The Indian Foreign Service, popularly known as IFS is the administrative diplomatic civil service under Group A and Group B. It is one of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of India.
The members of the IFS represent the country in the international territory. The IFS is unlike other civil services as it deals with the country's external affairs like diplomacy, trade and cultural relations.
The IFS is responsible for framing the Government's foreign policies and management of Indian missions abroad.
Union Public Services Commission will release the notification for CSE Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Preliminary Exam 2025 on 22 January, 2025. The CSE Preliminary Exam 2025 application process from 22 January, 2025 and the last date to submit the application form is on 11 February, 2025. UPSC Indian Foreign Service (IFS) 2025 Mains Exam will be conducted in a Pen and Paper-Based Test mode on 22, 23, 24, 30 & 3 August, 2025. Ad per the UPSC IFS Exam schedule 2025, the Civil Services Indian Foreign Service (IFS) will be held in two sessions every day.
UPSC CSE Forenoon session will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and the 2nd Session will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
