Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Exam

The GATE Committee, which comprises of representatives from the administering institutes, is the sole authority for regulating the examination and for declaring the results. The administrative purposes, the examination cities in India are segregated into eight zones. The operations related to GATE, in each of the eight zone, are managed by a ZOnal GATE office at the administrative Institute (IIT or IISc)

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India entrance examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidate in various UG subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and PG subjects in Science.

To be admitted to Masters in Technology (M.Tech) Programs and direct PhD admissions to Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Institutions / Universities throughout India, candidates must pass the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) a national entrance exam. A large number of State Electricity Boards (SEB) and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) accept GATE for the recruitment of trainee scientists and engineers of group C-level positions.

GATE 2025 IIT Roorkee has changed the exam center for February 15 & 16, 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has issued a notice regarding a change in the examination center for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. Candidates who were originally assigned to exam centers in Prayagra for the tests on February 15 & 16, 2025, will not have to appear at centers in Lucknow. This decision was made due to the expected large-scale gathering at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.

GATE 2025 Application Correction Window has extended till 20 November, 2024

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has been extended the deadline for application changes / modification upto 20 November, 2024. Candidates who are interested can register online for GATE 2025 & can access the correction window on the official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Candidates are allowed to make the necessary changes / updates in their GATE 2025 applications. Through the correction window, candidates can modify the personal information, change their examination city & can add additional test paper to their GATE 2025 application.

What's New in GATE 2025?

• The GATE 2025 exam will not be offered at any foreign locations. Individuals who are interested in taking the GATE 2025 exam and are either foreign or Indian Nationals must travel to India.
• The GATE 2025 Exam now includes a New Data Science and Artifical Intelligence Paper.
• Candidates may now attempt two subjects on the GATE 2025 exam using the two-paper combination technique, according to the authorities.

GATE 2025 Registration Extended till October 03, 2024.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (2025) has extended the registration without late fee until 03 October, 2024. Candidates who are interested and not submitted their applications can now register on the official website - goaps.iitr.ac.in.

GATE Exam Highlights 

GATE 2024

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, will be organizing the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025.

Beginning on August 24, 2024, the registration process will be open. By August 24th, 2024, the GATE 2025 application portal is anticipated to be operational. Candidates can apply on the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in if they are interested.

GATE 2025 - IIT Roorkee has announced the tentative GATE Exam date. GATE 2024 Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) will start online registration on 24 August 2024. The GATE 2025 Exam will be conducted on 01, 02, 15 & 16 February 2025 & the last date for registration is 26 September 2024.

There are numerous cities around India as well as six foreign cities where one can take the GATE Exam 2025. Computer-based testing (CBT) will be used for the GATE Exam 2025.  For a total of 30 Subjects, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will be conducted. "Data Science & Artificial Intelligence" is a new subject.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 is Computer-Based Test & Examination will be held on 01, 02, 15 & 16 February 2025. GATE Notification 2025

India Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee has released the GATE 2025 notification on the official website - gate2025iitr.ac.in.

GATE Eligibility 

Candidates must ensure that they meet all the educational eligibility criteria of GATE 2025.

Candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergradute degree program OR has already completed any government approved degree program in Enigneering / Technology / Architecture / Commerce / Science / Arts is eligible for appearing in the GATE 2025.

GATE 2025 Two-Paper Combinations

A candidate may appear either in ONE or TWO Papers. For Candidates who Choose TWO Papers, the combination must be from the approval list of combinations and subject to the availability of infrastructure and Schedule.

List of GATE 2025 Papers & Corresponding Codes

The GATE exam will be held on 30 subjects (papers) Candide is allowed to appear either in ONE or UP TO TWO Test Papers.

*XE (Engineering Sciences), **XH (Humanities & Social Sciences), ***XL (Life Sciences) papers are of general nature and will be comprised of sections listed in the below table:

NOTE : Each Subject/Paper is total 100 Marks.

General Aptitude (GA) Section of 15 Marks is common for all Papers. Hence remanining 85 Marks are the respective subject / Paper code.

GATE Exam Centres 

The GATE exam will be conducted at various cities grouped under the Zonal GATE office. Candidates have to choose three cities from the list of examination cities. One should choose the first and second choices from the same GATE zone, while, the third choice should be from another GATE zone. The important note is the GATE Committee reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one.  

GATE 2025 Registration Process

GATE 2025 - The Registration proces will start on 24 August, 2024 & the last date will be 26 September, 2024. Candidates have to register and fill the application via online mode only at the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Explore more about the GATE 2025 registration procedure. 

GATE 2025 Application Fee

Note : The application fee mentioned above DOES NOT INCLUDE Service charges, processing fees and any other charges that the banks may levy.

Note: The above application fees are for a single test paper. Candidates opting for two papers would have to pay twice the above mentioned fees.

GATE Admit Card 2025

Candidates who have registered successfully for the exam can visit the official website to download the GATE 2025 Admit Card in the month of January, 2025 Onwards.The admit cards will not be send to the candidates through post or email.One should take a printout of GATE Admit Card 2025 and carry the same to the Examination centre.The should also carry a valid photo identity card along with admit card to the examination centre for verification purpose.Candidates can access the direct link to download GATE 2025 Admit Card - Click here. 

GATE Syllabus

GATE Zone Office 

IISc and seven IITs jointly conduct the GATE exam.Candidates can access the zone information below which will help while registering online for the GATE exam.Candidates can clear their queries related to the examination centre, application, admit card and result. 

Choice of Examination City : A Candidate can choose THREE Cities from the list given above.All the three choices must be from the same GATE 2025 Zone.GATE 2025 reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one, and allot a city that may not be from any of the choices selected by the candidates.

 GATE 2025 Examination Schedule Released

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee has released the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 Examination schedule on the official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in.  Candidates who are registered for the GATE 2025 exam can now check the examination schedule.GATE 2025 Examination will be conducted from 01, 02, 15 & 16 February, 2024.Each day consists of two sessions: Morning from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Afternoon from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.Candidates can have a look of the examination schedule below:

GATE 2025 - IIT Roorkee introduces new two paper combinations

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has introduced new two paper combinations for the candidates appearing for the GATE 2025.IIT Roorkee will be conducting the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 on 01, 02, 15 & 16 February, 2025.Candidates who are appearing and registered for GATE 2025 can select from these options on the official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in between 14 to 20 November, 2024.Candidates can choose one or two papers on the combination list.

GATE 2025 TWO PAPER COMBINATIONS

The following new two - paper combinations (see table 2 below) are available during 14 - 20 November, 2024 for candidates who have already registered.These are in addition to the two-paper combinations that were available in the regular and extended application windows (see Table 1 below).

Candidates who had taken only one paper previously: could now add a second paper from the new two paper combinations (see table 2 below).This is a available at a regular fee with no penalty.

Those who had already taken two papers could now change their second paper only.

Those who wanted to add second paper from existing two paper combinations provided in (see table 1 below) could add the new paper at a regular fee with penalty.

The following Table 1 gives the codes of test papers allowed as the second paper for the candidate's choice of the first paper.These combinations were anounced in the regular and extended periods of application.

NOTE:

The test papers will be in English.Candidates opting to appear in TWO test papers must have a primary choice of test paper.The second test paper must be chosen from the allowed combinations given in the table above.Combinations other than the listed ones are NOT allowed in the inital (Regular and Extended) windows of registration.We may open up additional two-paper combinations at a later date, which will be notified on the GATE 2025 website.This is subject to the availability of infrastructure and scheduling feasibility.

The examination centre of a candidate for the second test paper may be different (but in the same city) from that for the first paper due to infrastructure and scheduling constraints.GATE 2025 shall NOT be liable for any legal obligations arising out of this issue.

Under unforeseen circumstances, certain combinations may be removed from the list in the above table at a later date.In such cases, the fee paid towards the seconds test paper will be refunded to the candidates.

GATE 2025 Provisional Answer Key Released

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee has released the provisional answer key for Graduate Aptitute Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 on 27 February, 2025 on the official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in.GATE 2025 exam was conducted on February 01, 02, 15 & 16, 2025.Candidates who had appeared for the GATE 2025 can download the answer key and raise their quetions till 01 March, 2025.Candidates need to login with their credentials such as enrolment ID and password to acces the GATE 2025 provisional answer key.

GATE 2025 Result To Be Release Soon

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is set to release the GATE 2025 result on its official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in.Candidates who have appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 can check their results by logging in with their enrollment ID and Password on the Official GATE portal.The result will display the candidate's score, All India Rank (AIR), qualifying marks, and subject-wise performance.

The GATE 2025 Scorecard will be available for download after the result declaration.The score is valid for three years and is crucial for admission to M.Tech, Ph.D Programs and PSU Recruitments.Candidates must ensure they meet the cut-off marks to qualify for further processes.

IIT Roorkee will release the GATE 2025 cutoff based on factors like exam difficulty, number of candidates, and overall performance.Candidates are advised to check the official GATE 2025 websites for updates.
