The Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Roorkee has released the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 Notification & Exam dates.
GATE 2025 Online registration window will close on 26 September, 2024. GATE 2025 Exam will be held from 01, 02, 15 & 16 February, 2025. IIT Roorkee will be organising institute for the exam in 2025.
GATE 2025 Examination will be conducted for 30 Papers (Subjects). GATE 2025 Examination will be conducted in online Computer - Based Test (CBT) mode, where the candidates will be shown the questions on a computer screen. Candidate can appear for only one of the 30 GATE Papers. Applicants must properly comprehend the GATE exam pattern to prepare for the GATE 2025 Exam. There are thirty distinct papers in the GATE Exam, and each one has a code.
Personal calculators, wristwatches, mobile phones or any other electronic devices are not allowed inside the examination hall. But, a virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen during the examination. So, candidates have to use the same during the examination.

GATE 2025 Examination will be of 3 hours duration and they consist of 65 questions for a total of 100 Marks.
GATE 2025 Examination for all the papers will be carried out in an online computer based test (CBT) mode, where the candidates will be shown the questions in a random sequence on a computer screen.
The question paper will consist of both multiple choice questions (MCQ) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
At the end of the stipulated time (3 hours), the computer will automatically close the screen inhibiting any further action. So, candidates are advised to complete their papers within the given time.
Note:
Candidates will be permitted to occupy their allotted seats 40 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination.
Candidates can login and start reading the instructions 20 minutes before the start of examination. The last login time (if any) recorded by the computer system MUST NOT be beyond 30 minutes from the actual starting time of the examination.
Under NO Circumstances, will a candidate be permitted to login after 30 minutes from the actual examination starting time.
Candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination.

Thus, they will get one hour extra for a three hours examination. PwD candidates with benchmark disability greater than 40% are eligible for compensatory time of one hour. PwD Candidates with less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing are eligible for compensatory time subject to production of a certificate.

Candidates need to choose their topic wisely. Candidates should carefully review the GATE 2025 Syllabus for the topic they intend to choose. The new two-paper combination for the GATE 2025 test allows candidates to appear for two papers. Candidates need to be aware that they have to select one exam paper as their first choice from the two that have been selected. The second exam paper can only be selected from the permitted sets. Candidates can review the two paper combinations list below. Candidates should bear in mind the GATE 2025 Eligibility requirements when choosing their papers. Candidates should carefully consider the papers they choose, and during the allotted time on the GOAPS 2025 portal, they should make any required changes.
