What is IBPS RRB Exam?

RRB Common Written Exam (CWE) is one of the many bank exams conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). It is conducted for recruitment to Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) or Gramin Banks.

IBPS organizes RRB CWE exam every year for recruitment of Officers &  Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in various Regional Rural Banks. The exam is going to be conducted online.

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is fully responsible for conducting RRB Common Written Exam (CWE). For the post of Officers Scale I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) the examination will be two-tier i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and mains.

The job profile, roles and responsibilities and salary package of RRB officers are as follows:

Group A Officer Post:

The Group A division has 3 cadres officers, which are Officer Scale I, Scale II and Scale III.

Officer Scale I:

  • The post held by Officer Scale I is a Manager Trainee post in RRBs or Gramin Bank.
  • After completion of two years’ probation period successfully, the PO will get the rank of Assistant Manager.
  • The salary of the newly appointed Officer scale I around Rs. 29,000.

Officer Scale-II:

  • The post held by Officer Scale-II is a manager level post.
  • This post requires experience and professional aptitudes.
  • Specialist recruited candidate to RRB can take this post.
  • The post holder of officer scale – II post has to go through two years of successful probation period and will get a starting salary of around Rs.39300 approx.

Officer Scale-III:

  • The post held by Officer Scale III is a senior manager level post.
  • This post requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the banking sector or relevant industry experience.
  • The starting salary of Officer Scale – III post is above Rs.50,000.

Group 'B' Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Post:

Office Assistant:

  • This post similar to clerical cadre in other nationalized banks.
  • The post holder may have distinctive roles on an appointment which involves account opening, cash collection, cheque verification etc.
  • The training period for RRB Office Assistant is of 1 year and the starting salary is of Rs. 16250 approx.

The examination may be held at the above centres and the detailed address of the centre will be mentioned in the call letters. IBPS reserves the proper right to cancel any of the Examination Centres and or add some other Centres under any circumstances. The board also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any centre other than the one he/she has opted for.

IBPS Released RRB Preliminary Admit Cards For Office Assistant And Officer Scale I

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the admit card for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Officer scale I. Candidates who have registered online for the eighth edition of CRP-Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) can download the admit card from the official website. 

Candidates should use their registration number/roll number and password/date of birth to access the RRB admit card. One should take a printout of the admit card and carry the same to the examination centre along with a valid photo identity card for verification purpose.

The selection will be based on the online written examination. The preliminary exam for Office Assistant post will be conducted from August 17 to 25, 2019. While, the written test for Officer Scale I will be held from August 3 to 11, 2019.

IBPS Released RRB Pre-Examination Training Call Letters

IBPS has released the RRB pre-examination training (PET) call letter for SC, ST, minority community, ex-servicemen and persons with benchmark disability candidates. Candidates can download the IBPS RRB admit card for PET of on the official website. 

According to the IBPS RRB official notification, the PET for Officer Scale-I will be held from July 21 to 26, 2019. The PET for Office Assistant candidates will be held from July 27 to August 1, 2019.

It is expected that the IBPS will release RRB admit cards for both Officer Scale and Office Assistant during the last week of July. The online preliminary examination for both the posts will be held in August. A total of 45 Regional Rural Banks are participating in the eighth edition of IBPS RRB recruitment.

IBPS RRB 2019: Written Test To Be Held In 13 Local Languages

After a huge demand to conduct the RRB recruitment examination in regional languages on Twitter with #ResolveIBPS, the government has started drafting the plans to implement. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that the recruitment examination for various posts in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will be held in 13 languages alongside English and Hindi.

According to the official sources, the IBPS RRB will be held in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. 

The Finance Minister said, “To provide a level playing field & to expand employment possibilities for local youths, it has been decided that examination for direct recruitment of officers (Scale-I) & Office Assistant in RRBs will be conducted in 13 regional languages in addition to English & Hindi.”

IBPS RRB 2019: Application Window To Close On July 4

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the recruitment notification for Office Assistants (Multipurpose), Officer Scale I, II & III and started accepting the online registration from June 18. The Institute is now all set to close the application window on July 4 for all the posts. 

Candidates can apply online only through the official link available on the IBPS' website. In order to apply, candidates should pay the application fee of Rs 600 for general candidates. It is Rs 100 for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-servicemen. 

Candidates who have submitted their application forms successfully can start preparing for the exams. The selection of the candidates will be based on the merit in the online written examination. The selection process consists of preliminary, main written examination followed by an interview.

The online application process started for IBPS RRB 2019. The recruitment notification was released a couple of days before. Interested candidates can start applying online for recruitment between June 18 and July 4, 2019. 

Candidates need to visit the official website of IBPS to apply online for recruitment. The closure for editing application details is on July 4. The last date for printing application form is July 19, 2019. The application fee is Rs 600 for general candidates.
