What is CAPF AC Exam?

The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to the uniform nomenclature of seven security forces in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs. They are the Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

UPSC CAPF AC Final Result 2022 Out

The Union Public Service Commission, popularly known as UPSC has released the Final result of the Central Armed Police Forces- Assistant Commandants (CAPF- AC) on its official website; upsc.gov.in. The aspirants who appeared in the examination, are supposed to check their results, issued by the Commission in a pdf format. The UPSC has released the provisional roll numbers of the candidates who have qualified for the final result of UPSC CAPF AC examination.

UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2023 On August 6, 2023

August 6, 2023, is the scheduled date for the CAPF exam.

In order to fill Assistant Commandant positions in Armed Police Forces like the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the CAPF exam every year.
The aspirants who have registered themselves for the examination, are supposed to keep an eye on the official website of the Commission; upsc.gov.in.

UPSC CAPF (ACs) Notification 2023:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released its notification for the UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023. To fill the positions of Assistant Commandant (Group-A) in the Central Industrial Security Force, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police, a recruitment drive is being held. The UPSC CAPF (AC) Recruitment 2023 Application period will start from April 26, 2023, and will end on May 16, 2023. Candidates must fill out the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) form on the UPSC website in order to apply for the UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023. Interested and eligible candidates are expected to visit the official website on a regular basis; upsc.gov.in.  

CAPF AC's 2023

  • The CAPF AC's 2023 exam notification was released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This year there are 322 total vacancies are released for Assistant Commandants (ACs) Posts in the Central Armed Police Forces.
  • The examination will be held on August 06, 2023, in accordance with the rules for the examination published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India.
  • Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

CAPF 2023 Number Of Vacancies

The UPSC releases the CAPF notification to shortlist the candidates for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A). Check the tentative number of vacancies for CAPF AC exam.

The UPSC will hold a Written Examination on 06th August, 2023 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The Examination will be held in accordance with the Rule for the published by Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India dated 26th April, 2023. The date of holding the examination as mentioned and liable to be changed at the discretion of the commission.

Note:

Aspirants should note that the number of vacancies mentioned above is liable to alteration. The reservation will be given as per policy of the Govt. 10% of the vacancies are earmarked for ex-servicemen. 

In case the vacancies reserved for Ex-servicemen remain unfilled due to nonavailability of eligible or qualified candidates, the same shall be filled by candidates from non ex-servicemen category.

CAPF Application Procedure & FEE

  • Candidates who are interested are required to apply Online using the website www.upsconline.nic.in
  • The online application process comprises of two stages. 
  • The candidates are required to pay a fee Rs.

    200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) (Excepting SC/ST/Female candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by deposit the money in any branch of State Bank of India or by using any VISA/Master/Rupay/Credit/Debit/UPI Payment or by using netbanking of any Bank.

  • Candidates who opt for "Pay by Cash" mode should print the system generated Pay-in-Slip during Part II Registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. "Pay by Cash" mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 15.05.2023 i.e. one day before the closing date. However applicants who have generated their Pay-in-Slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date. Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e. during banking hours at SBI Branch, for reasons whatsoever, even if holding valid pay-in-slip will have no other offline option but to opt for available Online Debit / Credit Card / UPI Payment or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 18:00 Hours of 16.05.2023.
  • The candidate must have his photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such manner that each file should not exceed 300 KB each and must not be less than 20 KB in size for the photograph and signature.  
  • The candidate should have details of one Photo ID viz. Aadhar Card / Voter Card / Pan Card / Passport / Driving License / Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. The details of this Photo ID will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online Application Form. This Photo ID will be used for all future references and the candidates is advised to carry this ID while appearing for the examination.
  • Aspirants should avoid multiple applications. 
  • Candidates are suggested to apply online well in time without waiting for the last date for submission of Online Applications. 
  • There is a option for the withdrawal of online application for CAPF. The online applications can be withdrawn from 17.05.2023 to 23.05.2023 till 6.00 PM. Detailed instructions regarding withdrawal of Applications in available on the official website - upsc.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality:

    ELIGIBITLITY CONDITIONS

    No person who is not a citizen of India shall, except with the consent of the Central Government signified in writing be appointed or employed under these Rules.

    Provided that nothing contained in these rules shall debar the appointment, enrolment or employment of a subject of Nepal or Bhutan under these Rules.

    Sex:

    Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants.

  2. Education qualification:

    Here are the certain educational qualifications that the applicants must possess to be eligible for CAPF:

    • As part of UPSC CAPF Eligibility Criteria, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a government recognised university. The University should be incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India
    • Other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 are also acceptable.
    • Those candidates, who have appeared in the qualifying examination and have yet not got their results, can also apply for CAPF Exam. But, it must be kept in mind that the admission would be provisional until the candidate produces proof of passing the examination after qualifying the entrance test of CAPF
  3. Age limit:

    A Candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the Age of 25 years on 01st August, 2023, i.e.., he / she must have been born not earlier than 02 August, 1998 and not later than 1st August, 2003.

    The Upper age limit presecribed above will be relaxable.

    (i) Upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

    (ii) Upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

    (iii) Upto a maximum of five years for Civilian Central Government Servants in accordance with the existing instructions of the Central Government. Ex-Servicemen will also be eligible for this relaxation. However the the total relaxation claimed on account of Government Service will be limited to five years.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assistant Commandant (AC) lead a company of around 150 armed personnel, which is deployed for conducting elections and maintaining normalcy, apart from the original mandates of border guarding and guarding the industrial corridors (CISF). Though CRPF is one such force which is directly involved in law and order maintenance and assisting the local administration in maintaining the local order
  • The Assistant Commandant has to perform functions like planning and conduct of operations, ensuring on the job training to keep the Company in the constant state of operational preparedness for the requirement in any situation, organizing independent intelligence network for operational efficiency, ensuring efficacy and serviceability of armaments in the Company.

UPSC CAPF AC 2022: DAF released at official website

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released CAPF AC 2022 DAF. The UPSC Central Armed Forces (AC's) qualified candidates will have to submit the detailed application form.

The candidates who are going to appear in the Mains Exam can submit the DAF till 09 October, 2022.
