The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to the uniform nomenclature of seven security forces in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs. They are the Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

The UPSC has announced the CAPF AC 2018 reserve list. The Commission has recommended a total of 50 candidates, which include 22 General, 24 OBC and 04 SC candidates. However, 11 candidates are provisional.
The CAPF AC's 2020 exam notification will release by the Union Public Service Commission. This year there are 398 total vacancies are released for Assistant Commandants (ACs) Posts in the Central Armed Police Forces.
The examination will be held on December 20, 2020, in accordance with the rules for the examination published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India.
Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

The UPSC has released the CAPF Assistant Commandant (AC) recruitment notification for a total of 323 vacancies. The UPSC has announced that the new exam dates for Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination, 2020. The written test will be conducted on December 20, 2020.
The sources suggest that the CAPF (AC) Examination 2020 notification will be released on August 18. The online applications will be accepted until September 7, 2020.
Earlier, the Commission held a special meeting on June 5 and released the revised exam calendar 2020. The new exam dates were also announced for Civil Services (Prelims) 2020 and other exams. The recruitment exams were postponed due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.6 June 2020

The official site reads, "The result of the Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination, 2018 was declared vide Press Note dated 02 August, 2019 recommending 416 candidates in order of merit for appointment."12 May 2020
Candidates who have passed with flying colours in CAPF 2018 examination await for joining letter eight months after the final result. The shortlisted candidates have raised their concern on social media, Twitter.
The Commission has released the CAPF notice for a total of 398 vacancies, out of which 179 were in CRPF, 84 in CISF, 46 in ITBP, 29 in SSB and 60 in BSF. The total number of vacancies was increased to 466.
According to the complaints raised by candidates, except for the Sashashtra Seema Bal (SSB), the candidates of other branches have not been issued their joining letter yet.
The CAPF 2018 exam held on August 12, 2018, the interview was held between June 24 and July 24, 2019. The final result was announced on August 2, 2019.22 April 2020
The UPSC has postponed the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) 2020 examination. Aspirants who are aspiring for the examination should note that the UPSC CAPF exam notice was postponed due to Coronavirus (COVID 2019) outbreak in the country.
According to the official notice, "CAPF (AC) Exam 2020 scheduled to be notified on April 22, 2020, stands deferred till further notice."
Candidates should note that the Commission will soon release the new dates for CAPF 2020. Earlier, the Commission has also deferred the notifications of NDA & NA (I), IES/ISS and CMSE. The exam of CAPF schedule on August 9, 2020.22 April 2020
The Government is drafting the plans to change the scheme of CAPF exam. It is also planning to merge the CAPF Officer recruitment with the Civil Services Examination (CSE). The Government had granted the Organised Group A Service (OGAS) categorisation to Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) that include CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP and SSB.
The Government is busy with a high-level discussion regarding the change of the scheme and syllabus of the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) exam. The recruitment test is being conducted by the UPSC since 2003 for recruiting officers.
It is to be noted that the government has not taken any decision yet regarding merge. The Civil Services 2020 exam notification was released on February 12. The exam will be held on May 31. The CAPF 2020 notification will be released on April 22.20 February 2020
