IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

Candidate must fulfil one of the following criteria:

  • Candidates Should be a citizen of India OR

  • Must be subject of Nepal or Bhutan OR

  • Should be a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India OR

  • Should be a person of Indian origin who has migrated from other countries (Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam) with the intention of permanently settling in India

Note:

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India.

IBPS PO Age Limit (As ON 01.08.2024):

To apply for the Probationary Officer post candidate be minimum 20 years and maximum of 30 years.

Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2024 (Both dates Inclusive)

Relaxation in the upper age limit:

5. Persons affected by 1984 riots 5 Years

NOTE:

1.

The relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC Candidates is allowed on cumulative basis with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned in Point (3) to (5).

2. The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates and Economically Weaker (EWS) Category Candidates.

3. Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to submit necessary certificate(s) in original / along with photocopies at the time of Interview and at any subsequent stage of the recruitment process as required by IBPS Participating Bank (s)

IBPS PO Educational Qualification (As on 21.08.2024)

  • Applicant/candidate should have a degree in any discipline from a recognised university of India or any of its equivalent qualification recognised by the central government.

  • Candidate should have a valid marks sheet/degree certificate, which should indicate that he/she is a graduate on the day he/she registered.

  • While registering online the candidate is required to mention the marks obtained in the graduation

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts

IBPS has not placed a limit on the number of attempts for the IBPS PO test. A candidate can take the exam if they meet the age limit stipulated by the authority.

IBPS PO Visual Standards

The IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria for Visually Impaired Candidates outlines precise criteria that the candidate must follow. Canddiates with a visual impairment of more than 40% can request a magnified view of the question paper, with a compensation time of 20 minutes per hour unless otherwise advised. Candidates who use the scribe services are ineligible for magnified material or vision, and prior notice of utilizing a scribe should be provided when submitting the IBPS PO Application Form.

IBPS PO Reservation Criteria: PwD Candidates

Section 34 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act of 2016 has unique provisions for the PwD Goups.

The following disabilities considered for reservation.

Blindness and Low Vision

Deaf or Hard of hearing issues

Austim, mental illness, and learning disabilities

Dwarfism, locomotor disability, cerebral Palsy, acid attack victims, muscle dystrophy, and leprosy cured.
