IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria

Nationality / Citizenship:

A candidate must be either :-

(i)   A Citizen of India or

(ii)   a subject of Nepal or

(iii)  a subject of Bhutan or

(iv)  a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or.

(v)   a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intension of permanently settling in India, Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

AGE LIMIT - (As on 01.07.2024):

A candidate must be 20 Years to 28 Years.

A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1996 and not later than 01.07.2004 (both dates inclusive)

Relaxation of Upper Age Limit.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.

A candidate must have a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt.

of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

The candidate must possess valid Mark-Sheet / Degree Certificate that he / she is a graduate on the day he / she registered and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Computer Literacy : Operating and Working knowledge in Computer Systems in mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Computer Operations / Language / Should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School / College Institute.

Proficiency in the Official Language of the State / UT (Candidates should know how to read / write and speak the Official Language of the State (UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

Under Section 34 of "The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016", Persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for Reservation. The reserved categories of disabilities mentioned under this Act are namely:

A. "OC" Category:

A Person's inability to execute distinctive activities associated with movement of self and objects resulting from affliction of musculoskeletal or nervous system to both, including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Muscular Dystrophy and Acide Attack Victims, Spinal Deformity (SD) and Spinal Injury (SI) without any associated neurological / limb dysfunction. Orthopedically challenged persons are covered under locomoter disability.

a. "Leprosy cured person" means a person who has been cured by leprosy but is suffering from:

i. Loss of sensation in hands or feet as well as loss of sensation and Paresis in the eye and eye-lid but with no manifest deformity;

ii. Manifest deformity and Paresis but having sufficient mobility in their hands and feet to enable them to engage in normal economic acitivity;

iii. Extreme physical deformity as well as advanced age which prevents him / her from undertaking any gainful occupation, & the expression "leprosy cured" shall be constructed accordingly"

b.

"Cerebral palsy" means a Group of non-Progressive neutrological conditions affecting body movements and muscle coordination, caused by damage to one or more specifice areas of the brain, ususally occuring before, during or shortly after birth;

c. "Dwarfism" means a medical or genetic condition resulting in an adult height of 4 feet 10 inches (147 centimetres) or less;

d. "Muscular dystrophy" means a group of hereditary genetic muscle disease that weakness the muscles that move the human body and persons with multiple dystrophy have incorrect and missing information in their genes, which presents them from making the proteins that they need for healthy muscles. It is charaterized by progressive skeletal muscle weakness, defects in muscle proteins and the dealth of muscle cells and tissue;

e. "Acid Attack Victims" means a person disfigured due to violent assualts by throwing of acid or similar corrosive substance.

B. Visual Impairment ("VI" Category):

Only those Visually Impaired (VI) persons who suffer from any one of the following conditions after best correction, are eligible to apply.

a. Blindness:

i. Total absence of signt: OR

ii. Visual acuity less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction; OR

iii. Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 10 degree. OR.

b. Low Vision:

i. Visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 upto 3/60 or upto (10/200) (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible corrections; OR.

ii. Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 40 degree up to 10 degree.

C. Hearing Impaired ("HT" Category):

a. Deaf: mean person having 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears.

b. Hard of Hearing: means person having 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears.

D. "ID" Category: Only those persons, who suffer from any one of the following types of disabilities, are eligible to apply under this category:

1. Intellectual Disability:

a. Autism Spectrum Discorder (ASD) means a neuro-developmental condition typically appearing in the first three years of life that significantly affects a person's ability to communicate, understand relationships and relate to others, and is frequently associated with unusal or stereotypical rituals or behaviours.

b. "Specific Learning Disability" (SLD) means a heterogeneous group of conditions wherein there is a deficit in processing language, spoken or written, that may manifest itself as a difficulty to comprehend, speak, read, write, spell or  to do mathematical calculations and includes such conditions or perceptual disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysccalculia, dyspraxia and development aphasia.

c. "Mental Illness" (MI) means a substantial disorder of thinking, mood, perception, orientation or memory that grossly impairs judgement, behaviour, capacity to recognize reality or ability to meet the ordinary demands of life, but does not include retardation which is a condition of arrested or incomplete development of mind of a person, specially characterised by sub normality of intelligence.

2. "Multiple Disabilities" means multiple disabilities amongst clause "A"; "B": "C"; "D (1)".

Note:

Only those persons with benchmark disabilities would be eligible for reservation "Benchmark Disability" means a person will not less than 40% of a specified disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes the persons with disability, where disability has been defined in a measurable terms as certified by the certifying authority.

IBPS Clerk Reservation Criteria: PWD Candidates

PwD Candidates must fulfill the general eligibility requirements for the IBPS Clerk Test, which include the previously state nationality, age restriction and educational requirements. They ought to be graduates of an accredited university or other school with a bachelor's degree.

The following is the PwD applicant reservation for the IBPS Clerk exam:

  • Applicants with disability may be reserved for positions up to 40% of total vacancies in a certain state or union territory.

    The 4% reserve is further subdivided into disability-specific categories, including low vision, blindnes, hearing impairment, locomotor disability, and intellectual disability.

IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria: Documents Required for the Eligibility Verification

In order to prove their eligibility, candidates must usually present specific documents during the IBPS Clerk exam verification process. The following is an overview of the documents that are frequently requested:

Proof of Date of Birth: This can be any legitimate record, such as a passport, birth certificate, or SSLC / 10th Standard Certificate, that attests to the applicant's date of birth.

Certificates of Education Requirement: As state in the notification, candidates must submit the required certificates of education.

Caste / Category Certificate: The candidate must have a current caste / category certificate issued by the appropriate government if they fall under one of the reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC or EWS).

PwD Certificate: In order to be considered for consideration, a candidate must present a current disability certificate that has been certified by a recognized medical professional.

Candidates may be required to present a domicile certificate or any other documentation attesting to their liviing address. This could be an Aadhaar card, Voter ID Card, Ration card, or utility bill bearing the candidate's name.

Identify Proof: Usually, applicants must present lefitimate form of identification, such as a driver's license, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, or passport.

IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria: Ex Servicemen

For former service members who wants to apply for the IBPS Clerk Test, the IBPS offers specific exemptions and requirements.

  • Age Relaxation: Applicants who are ex-servicemen may be eligible for an age relaxation that adds a specific number of years to their upper age limit - typically no more than five years.
  • Educational Requirements: As a state in the Official IBPS Clerk notification, Candidates who are ex-servicement must meet the same educational requirements as regular exam candidates.
  • Experience / Service Certificate: Depending on the recruitment cycle, candidates who are ex-servicemen must typically have served for a minimum amount of time in the armed forces.

IBPS Clerk Eligiblity Criteria for Using Scribe

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, or IBPS, allows candidates with disabilities to use scribes for the IBPS Clerk exam. The following are the standard requirements to be a eligible to use a scribe:

  • Candidates who meet the requirements of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in terms of benchmark disabilities are qualified to use scribes. Blindness, limited vision, hearing loss, motor disability, and intellectual disability are a few examples of benchmark disabilities.
  • Certificate of Disability: In accordance with government requirements, candidates with baseline disabilities must typically obtain a valid disability certificate issued by a competent medical body. The kind and percentage of the handicap should be expressly stated on the certificate.
  • Scribe Eligiblity: The scribe must meet the requirements set forth by the IBPS. It is not appropriate for the scribe to run for the same exam. They ought to be less educated than the candidates. The scribe ought not to have taken the test any time before.
