Combined Geo-Scientist Exam
UPSC CGSE Exam Important Dates
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the UPSC Geo-Scientist Examination for the 2025 on 04 September, 2024. UPSC Geo-Scientist 2025 Preliminary Exam will be held on 09 February, 2025 (Sunday) and the last date to apply will be 24 September, 2024 - 6:00 PM.
UPSC CGSE - The Commission has also changed the exam name from ''Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination (CGGE)'' to ''Combined Geo-Scientist Examination (CGSE).
Candidates who are interested and eligible can apply for the UPSC Geo-Scientist Preliminary Exam 2025. Candidates must ensure & fulfill all the eligiblity criteria can fill out the application form by visiting the UPSC website - upsc.gov.in before the last date of submission of the application form - 24 September, 2024.
According to the UPSC calendar, the CGSE Preliminary Exam will take place from 09 February, 2025.

Note:
- Candidates competing for selection to the posts of Geology, Chemistry / Chemical, Geophysicist and will be required to appear in the paper on 21st & 22nd June 2025.
- Candidates competing for selection for the post of Jr. Hydrologists only will be required to appear in the examination on 21st & 22nd June 2025. (FOR PAPER I & II OF GEOLOGY AND PAPER 4 OF HYDROGEOLOGY ONLY).
- If any candidate fails to appear in any one or more of above papers, meant for written examination for selection to the post of Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist, Chemical and Jr. Hydrogeologist, his/her candidature shall stand rejected and part of written examination appeared by him/her shall not be evaluated and counted for any purpose
