The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist 2025 Notification on 04 September, 2024. UPSC CGSE Preliminary Exam will be conducted on 09 February, 2025 and CGSE Mains Exam will be held on 21st & 22nd June, 2025. Candidates can start applying for UPSC CGSE Exam 2025 on the official website - upsc.gov.in.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Every year conducts the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination (CGSE) to shortlist the candidates for the posts such as Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist and Junior Hydrogeologists. The mentioned posts are in the Geology Survey of India Under the Ministry of Mines and Central Ground Water Board Under Ministry of Water Resources.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Combined Geo-Scientist Preliminary e-Admit Card 2025 on 31 January, 2025. Candidates who are appearing for the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist has scheduled on 09 February, 2025, candidates now download their admit cards from the official website - upsc.gov.in.

Based on UPSC Notice - Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination 2025 on 09 February, 2025 (Sunday) across India. The Commission has uploaded e-Admit Cards for the convenience of the admitted candidates on its website. The candidates are advised to download thier e-Admit cards and take a printout thereof. e-Admit Card must be preserved till the declaration of the final result of the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2025. No paper Admit card will be issued for this Examination.

The candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-Admit Card at the allotted venue for appearing at the Examination. A Candidate who does not produce his / her e-Admit Card for checking at the allotted venue shall not be allowed to take the Examination. Candidates are also required to carry along the Photo ID Card, whose number is mentioned in the e-Admit Card, in each session.

  • Visit the official website of UPSC – www.upsc.gov.in 
  • Scroll down and click on the admit cards tab.
  • Click on ''E-Admit Cards for Various Examinations of UPSC''
  • Select the ''Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2025'' link
  • Enter the login details such as registration ID/roll number and date of birth.
  • Download Combined Geo-Scientist Examination admit card 2025 and take a printout of the same.

Documents Required Along With CGSE Admit Card 

Candidates need to carry the hard copy of the CGSE admit card along with a valid photo identity card issued by the Central or State government for the verification purpose.

Aspirants will not be allowed to take the written examination if they fail to carry the identity card. Some of the identity cards accepted for the verification are below.

Discrepancy In CGSE Admit Card

In case of any discrepancy in CGSE admit card, aspirants should contact the UPSC immediately. Aspirants can use the Facilitation Counter in the Commission's Office to access the information regarding e-admit card or exam, same may be communicated to the commission immediately by email ([email protected]) for taking the decision in the matter. CGGE Test Day Instructions

  • Aspirants are advised to take a printout of the CGGE admit card and carry the same to the examination centre along with a photo identity card.
  •  Candidates should report at the examination centre at least 30 minutes prior to the exam time.
  • The CGGE examination in all the subjects will be of conventional (essay) type. Hence, candidates are advised to carry the required stationary to the examination centre.
  • The duration of each paper is three hours and one cannot leave the exam hall in the middle.
  • Candidates are advised to go through the instructions meticulously printed on the CGGE admit card.
