Indian Engineering Services Exam

IES Application Procedure

Union Public Service Examination (UPSC) has released the Indian Engineering Services (IES) Notification 2025 on 18 September, 2024 on the official website - upsc.gov.in.

UPSC - IES Preliminary Examination will be held on 09 February, 2025, whereas the Main examination is going to be conducted on 22 June, 2025. Eligible and successful candidates are admitted after an interview coducted by the UPSC for those having qualified the written examination.

Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.

Candidates are required to apply online by using the official website of UPSC, i.e. www.upsconline.nic.in, brief instructions for filling up the online application form are available on the official website.

Online application form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II. So, candidates are advised to complete the form as per the instructions available on the official website.

The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- [excepting SC/ST/Female/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of the State Bank of India or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.

Before starting filling up online application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB and must not be less than 3 KB each in size for the photograph and 1 KB for the signature.

*No request for withdrawal from a candidate will be received under any circumstances after he/she has submitted his/her online application form.

Last date for Application:

  • The online applications form will be available from 18 September, 2024 to 08 October, 2024 up to 6:00 PM
  • The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination
  • The e-Admission Certificate will be made available in the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates
  • No e-Admission Certificate will be sent by post.

    So, all the applicants are required to provide valid E-Mail Id.

PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS (in Objective Type Papers):

Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
