Indian Engineering Services (IES) is one of the prestigious services in the country. Every year, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) for the services/posts under the categories of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics & telecommunication engineering.
The selection of the candidates will be made through a written examination followed by an interview. The written exam consists of preliminary and main exams. In order to appear for the examination, candidates should possess a valid admit card.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2021 on July 18. The IES admit card was released and candidates can access the admit card available on the official website of UPSC (www.upsc.gov.in).
IES preliminary 2021 will be conducted at more than 42 centres across the country. Candidates who qualify in the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination on July 18, 2021, will be eligible to appear for the Main Examination which will take place on October 10, 2021.
Aspirants are advised to check the IES e-admit card carefully. In case of any discrepancies, they are advised to contact the Commission immediately. One should also note that the Commission will not mail separate admit cards for the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination.
Candidates should also retain the IES (preliminary) admit card till the end of the selection process. It is also required for checking the result. IES admit card 2021 will be available on the official website in the third week of June 2021.

The UPSC has released the ESE admit card 2021 on June 24. Aspirants can download the UPSC ESE admit card 2021 with their login credentials. One should note that the Commission will not issue the paper admit card. In case of any discrepancy, candidates can report to the Commission at email ID: email@example.com till July 11, 2021.
The official notice reads, "It may also be noted that entry into the Examination Venue shall be closed 10 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the Examination i.e. 09:50 A.M. for the Forenoon Session and 01:50 P.M. for the Afternoon Session. No candidate shall be allowed the entry into the Examination Venue after closure of the entry."
It also reads, "Candidates should also note that they shall not be allowed to appear at any other Examination Venue except the Examination Venue mentioned in the e-Admit Card."
Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC – www.upsc.gov.in.
Step 2: Go to the ‘Examinations’ tab.
Step 3: In the examinations section, click on 'Active Examinations'.
Step 4: There will be a link for 'Engineering Services Examination 2021'.
Step 5: Click on IES admit card 2021 in the page.
Step 6: The IES admit card page will be displayed.
Step 7: Click 'Yes' on the Instructions page.
Step 8: Enter the Registration ID/Roll Number and other details.
Step 9: Click on the “Submit” button to view the IES admit card.
Step 10: Download and take a printout of the IES admit card 2021.
After downloading the UPSC IES admit card, candidates should check all the details whether they are published correctly or not. Here are the details one must verify.
Aspirants have to carry the IES admit card to the exam hall along with a valid photo ID card. The accepted photo identity proofs are Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, etc.
In case the photograph is visible or available on the e-admit card of the Engineering Services Exam (ESE), candidates have to carry two identical photographs (one photograph for each session) to the examination centre. They should also carry proof of identity such as a Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Passport and Driving Licence.
