The notification of CDS (I) 2020 will be released on October 30, 2019, and for CDS (II) the official notification will release on August 05, 2020. The examination for CDS (I) will be held on February 02, 2020, and for CDS (II) the exam is going to be conducted on November 08, 2020. Eligible and successful candidates are admitted after an interview conducted by the UPSC for those having qualified the written examination.
Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.
Candidates are required to apply online by using the official website of UPSC, i.e. www.upsconline.nic.in, brief instructions for filling up the online application form are available on the official website.
Online application form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II. So, candidates are advised to complete the form as per the instructions available on the official website.
The candidates are required to pay a fee of INR 200 [excepting SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of the State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.
Applicants who opt for "Pay by Cash" mode should print the system generated Pay in-slip during Part-II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. "Pay by Cash" mode option will be deactivated one day before the closing date.
Before starting filling up online application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB and must not be less than 3 KB each in size for the photograph and 1 KB for the signature.
Applicants should avoid submitting multiple applications. However, if due to any unavoidable circumstances any applicant submits multiple applications then he must ensure that the applications with higher RID are complete in all respects.
