IES/ISS Application Forms and Procedure

The notification of this examination was released on June 10, 2020. The examination will be conducted from October 16 to 18, 2020. Eligible and successful candidates are admitted after an interview conducted by the UPSC for those having qualified the written examination.

Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.

Candidates are required to apply online by using the official website of UPSC, i.e., brief instructions for filling up the online application form are available on the official website.

Online application form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II. So, candidates are advised to complete the form as per the instructions available on the official website.

The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- [excepting SC/ST/Female/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of the State Bank of India or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.

Before starting filling up online application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB and must not be less than 3 KB each in size for the photograph and 1 KB for the signature.


  • Applicants who opt for “Pay by cash” mode should have to print the system generated Pay-in-Slip during Part-II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of nearest SBI Branch on the next working day only.
  • “Pay by Cash” mode option will be deactivated at 23:59 on April 13, 2020, i.e. one day before the closing date; however, applicants who have generated their Pay-in-Slip before it is de-activated may pay at the nearest counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date.
  • If the candidate is holding a valid Pay-in-Slip and who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date, the candidates didn't have offline or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date, i.e. till 6:00 PM on April 13, 2020.

*No request for withdrawal from a candidate will be received under any circumstances after he/she has submitted his/her online application form.

Last date for Application:

  • The online applications from June 10, 2020, to June 30, 2020, up to 6:00 PM
  • The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination
  • The e-Admission Certificate will be made available in the UPSC website [] for downloading by candidates
  • No e-Admission Certificate will be sent by post. So, all the applicants are required to provide valid E-Mail Id.
