Joint Entrance Examination Main (I) & (II) Exam

JEE Main examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. From 2019 onwards, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is vested with the authority to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main examination. The major development in JEE Main is the exam will be held twice a year for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in IITs, NIT's, IIIT's and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions.

The Joint Entrance Exam will be conducted in two stages - JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE (Main) replaced the AIEEE entrance exam and JEE (Advanced) replaced the IIT-JEE entrance exam. Every year, over 25,000 Engineering and Architecture seats will be filled through the JEE Main score.

The aim of the common entrance test has been mooted to reduce stress on students, who have to appear for multiple entrance examinations and to give greater relevance to the school education, especially the class 12 board examinations.

National Testing Agency (NTA)

NTA has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organisation to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. It is a newly formed body by the centre to conduct prestigious entrance examinations such as JEE Main and NEET UG. The Agency has also vested with all the authority to conduct the entrance examinations in the online mode from 2019 onwards. Here are some of the changes in JEE Main examination after the introduction of NTA. 

• From the year 2019 onwards, candidates should have to appear f:or JEE Main in online mode only, but for one subject a candidate will have Pen and Paper Based mode to be attempted on Drawing Sheet
• Aspirants will have double the chance, more opportunity, NTA is going to be conducted JEE Main twice a year
• The candidates can pick desirable slots to appear in the exam owing to the flexibility and availability of sittings from January to April
• Students will have more time to prepare for their entrance exam because the exam will take place in the month of January and April
• The exam centres have been to 258 which include 248 exam centres in India and 9 centres in abroad countries
• In case of students who have appeared in both exams, the best of the two scores will be taken into account for the result
• Around 3000 practise test centres for JEE aspirants to train them for computer-based examination, which will be functioning from the August 2018. 
• There will be a normalisation process for the calculation of scores to have fair results.

JEE Main Result 2025 Declared For Paper 2

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Result 2025 for Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B. Planning) on the offiical website - jeemain.nta.nic.in on 23 May, 2025. The JEE Main 2A Examinations were conducted on January 30 and 2B was held on 09 April, 2025. JEE Main Exam will be conducted in single shift in 13 Languages such as English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi and Urdu. Candidates can check their results by login using your application number and password or date of birth to check their NTA Score, Percentile, All India Rank (AIR) and Qualifying status for JEE Mains.

JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Exam Date Revised

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the Joint Entrance Examnation (JEE) Mains 2025 Session 2 exam dates due to CBSE Class 12 Board exams schedule. As per the schedule released by NTA, JEE Main 2025 Exam Paper 1 (B.E./ B.Tech) will be held on 02, 03, 04 & 07 April, 2025 in two shifts: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Noon & 3:00 PM & 6:00 PM.

Change in date of JEE (Main) 2025 Session - 2 Examination of certain candidates due to clash with Class XII Board Examination

The National Testing Agency is conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2025 Session - 2 at different Centres located in various cities throughout the country and 15 cities outside India as per following details:-

NTA has received representations from a few candidates mentioning that their Class XII Board Examinations are coinciding with the JEE (Main) Examination date slot alloted to them.

Such representations have been considered in order to facilitate the candidates, so that they can write their Board exams and the JEE (Main) Examination as well and it has been decided to allot another examination Date Slot to the candidates.

The revised date of the JEE (Main) - 2025, Session 2 examination, for such candidates are hosted in the NTA website and can be downloaded using the login credentials in the website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in with effect from 28 March, 2025.

JEE Main 2025 Session 2 City Intimation Slip Released

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2025 City Intimation slip for the April Session. Candidates who are appearing for the exam can check their allotted exam city on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in by logging to the website enter their credentials. The JEE Main 2025 Session exam will take place on 02 April, 2025 as Computer-Based Test (CBT). Candidates can download their JEE Admit Card before the exam.

JEE Main Application Correction Dates 2025 Announced

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main application correction window dates. JEE Main 2025 Online application last date is 22 November, 2024. Candidates are advised to register or submit the application form before the last date. Candidates who have registered already can edit or modify their application form from 26 to 27 November, 2024 upto 11:50 PM.

Personal Details, Academic details, Examination details, Other details which can be modifed -  Date of birth, Category, Gender, Sub-Category & signature.

JEE Main Notification 2025

National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 online registration for January Session (I) from 28 October, 2024 to 22 November, 2024 till 9:00 PM.

NTA is responsible for releasing the JEE Main Notification for both exam sessions. Candidates who are interested and eligible can registration online for JEE Main on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates should check JEE Main Information bulletin meticulously that will contain all the information about the exam starting from eligiblity to important dates.

Inviting Online Application Forms for Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2025 - Reg.

The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (NTA) from 2019 onwards.

JEE (Main) comprises of two papers.

Paper 1 (B.E./ B.Tech) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E./B.Tech) at NIITs, IITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions / Universities funded / recognized by participating State Governments. It is also an eligibility Test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 of JEE (Main) is conducted fro admission to B.Arch and B. Planning courses in the country.

For Academic Session 2025-26, it has been decided that the JEE (Main) - 2025 will be conducted in two sessions i.e. Session 1 (January 2025) and Session 2 (April 2025). The details of the Session 1 (January 2025) are given below:

JEE (Main) - 2025 will be conducted in 13 Languages i.e.

English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu & Urdu.

(i) A candidates can apply for session - 1 (January 2025) examination and pay the exam fee accordingly. The candidates will be given opportunity to apply for session - 2 (APril 2025) separately (using same application number) along with the fee payment, for which separate notification will be issued.

(ii) If a candidate wisehes to apply for Session 2 (April 2025), the candidate can log in and pay the Examination Fee for Session 2 during that period. If candidates wishes to apply only for session - 2 (April 2025), he can register later, when application form for Session - 2 (April 2025) is active.

(iii) The application window for Session 2 will be re-opened as per the details available in the information Bulletin and will also be notified separately through a Public Notice.

JEE Main 2025 January Session (I) & April Session (II)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main January Session (I) 2025 Exam dates on the official notice. Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2025 before the deadline of 22 November, 2024 on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main 2025 will be held from 22 to 31 January, 2025. JEE Main 2025 April Session (II) will be held online from 01 to 08 April, 2025 (Tentatively). Candidates who have appeared for the Class 10+2 exam with PCM are eligible for the NTA JEE Mains test.

How Many Attempts for JEE Mains?

JEE Main hopefuls should be informed of the entire number of JEE Mains attempts.Candidates may sit for the JEE Mains test in three consecutive years beginning in 2025.There will be two sessions per year.As a result, there will be a total of six attempts for JEE Mains 2025.

75 Percent Criteria for JEE Mains 2025

Last year, the NTA reintroduced the 75 percent marks eligibility condition in JEE Mains.Candidates who want to enrol into their selected institute must now score at least 75% in their class 12th to qualify for JEE Mains.There was no such criteria before to COVID-19, and no 12th was necessary for JEE Mains.Any candidate deemed unfit under the JEE Mains 75 percent criteria will be declared disqualified and will not be admitted to institutes such as IITs, NITs, IITs and CFTIs.

How to fill the JEE Main 2025 Application Form?

IIT JEE Registration: Candidates must register for the JEE Main 2025 Exam.Candidates must supply the essential information during the registration procedure.Candidates should enter accurate information because no correction request will be allowed.

Filling out the application form: After completing the NTA JEE Mains registration process, Candidates must fill out the application form.Candidates must give personal information, apply for the paper, and select the exam cities and educational criteria.

Uploading Images: After completing the form, candidates must provide an image of their photo, signature, address proof, category certficates, and PwD Certficiate.

JEE Main 2025 Application Fee

The application fee may be paid either by Credit/Debit Card (Except Master/Visa Card)/Net Banking or e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form using online payment gateway facility in State Bank of India.If a candidate submits the fee by any other mode like Money Order (MO), Demand Draft (DD), Initial Public Offering (IPO) etc.will be rejected.

JEE Main 2025 Session I Exam Dates

The JEE (Main) 2025 will be conducted in 02 (TWO) Sessions for admissions in the next academic session (2025).

Mode of the Examination & Timings - JEE Main 2025

NOTE - * For Paper 1 & Part-1 of Paper 2, each subject will have two sections.A will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value.There will be negative marking for incorrect answers in both Section A and Section B.

Medium of the Question Papers : Drawing from the National Education Policy (NEP), the JEE (Main) 2025 will be conducted in 13 Languages - Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi, English and Gujarati.

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility 

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria set by the NTA are only eligible to apply online for JEE Main.There are many eligibility criteria set by NTA. 

1.Age Limit: There is no age limit for the candidates to appear for the JEE Main examination.However, candidates should satisfy themselves regarding the age limit while taking admission at a particular institute. 

2.Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE): Candidates who have passed class 12 or its equivalent qualifying examination in 2023, 2024, or those who are appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination in 2025, are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2025.

3.Candidates who passed the Class XII / equivalent examination in 2022 or before are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2025.

4.Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12 qualifying examination in order to apply online for JEE Main 2025.The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in qualifying examination for B.Arch.

5.Percentage of Marks: Candidates have to secure the minimum of 75% marks in aggregate for admission to pioneer institutes in the country such as IITs, IIITs, NITs and CFTIs.However, it is 65% for reserved categories. 

6.B.Arch Eligibility: The paper-II is B.Arch.Candidates who are aiming for admission to this course must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.The diploma holders are not eligible to apply. 

JEE Main Reservation 

The NTA will follow strictly the Govt.of India reservation rules belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. In order to get admission to a particular institute, candidates are advised to check the percentage of reservation.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025

The JEE Main is an online written examination.Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for the wrong attempt.The examination will be held in two shifts per day (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM).Candidates are advised to visit our JEE Main exam pattern page for more information.

The advance intimation of Allotment of Examination City has been hosted on the website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The candidates are required to check / download their Examination City Intimation Slip of JEE (Main) - 2025 Session - 1 (using their Application Number and Date of Birth) from the website - jeemain.nta.nic.in/ w.e.f 10 January, 2025 and go through the instructions contained therein.

The candidates may please note that this is NOT the Admit Card for JEE Main - Session 1.This is advance information for the allotment of the City where the Examination Centre will be located, to faciliate the candidates.The Admit card of JEE (Main) - 2025 - Session - 1 shall be issued later.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Result on 11 February, 2025.Candidates who have appeared for the JEE Main 2025 exam can check result on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 exam was scheduled on 22, 23, 24, 28 & 29 January, 2025 & JEE Main Paper 2 was conducted on 30 January, 2025.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) of Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2025 Session 1 (January 2025) in 618 Centres in 304 Cities (Including 15 cities outside India) as per the details given below:

The JEE (Main) - 2025 Paper 1 (B.E./ B.Tech) Examination was conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode in 13 Languages (Assames, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malalayam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu & Urdu).

The Examination was also conducted in 15 cities outside India in Manama, Doha city, Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu, Abu Dhabi, West Java, Washington, Lagos & Munich.
