JEE Main Admit Card

The organising body of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, National Testing Agency (NTA), will be releasing the admit card only in an online mode. Without a valid JEE Main admit card, candidates cannot take the entrance test.

Candidates who have registered for the examination can download the JEE Main admit card from the official website of NTA. The applicants have to produce their login details, such as application number, password and security pin to download the JEE Main admit card. Candidates are advised to go through the details meticulously in the JEE Main admit card. In case of any discrepancies, candidates are advised to contact the respective authorities immediately to rectify the mistake.  

The JEE Main admit card is issued provisionally to the candidate subject to his/her satisfying the eligibility terms & conditions. The candidates have to download his/her admit card from the NTA's website and appear for the examination at the allotted centre on the date and shift as indicated in their admit card. 

The registered candidates have to note that JEE Main admit cards will not be sent through the post. No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre on the date and shift other than that allotted to him/her in their JEE Main admit card. 

JEE Main Admit Card 2019 Highlights 

The NTA will release the JEE Main April exam admit card on March 20, 2019. The registered candidates can visit the official website of JEE Main to download the admit card. The admit card will be available to those whose applications are successfully submitted.

Steps To Download JEE Main Admit Card 

NTA will activate the JEE Main admit card link at least three weeks prior to the examination. Here are the steps to download the JEE Main admit card 2019. 

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA – www.nta.ac.in.

Step 2: Go to the 'JEE Main' flashing on the home page. 

Step 3: Click on link ''Download JEE Main Admit Card.''

Step 4: Enter the application number, password and the security pin. 

Step 5: Submit the details to access the JEE Main admit card.

Step 6: Download the JEE Main admit card and take a printout.

What To Carry To JEE Main Exam Centres

NTA has barred many things into the examination hall. However, there are some important things a candidate should carry to the examination hall. Below are the important documents required.  

  • JEE Main admit card 2019 (printout)
  • One passport size photograph for pasting it on the attendance sheet at the exam centre. 
  • A valid ID – PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/Aadhaar Card/Ration Card.

JEE Main Exam Day Instructions 

After downloading the JEE Main admit card, candidates are advised to check the instructions printed on it. These instructions are not only helpful while taking the JEE Main exam but also till the end of the admission process. Some of the important instructions on JEE Main admit card is given below. 

  • Candidates shouldn’t carry any pencil or pen to the examination hall. 
  • Carrying/wearing of any wristwatch is banned in the exam because the hall will be equipped with a wall clock. 
  • The location of the exam centre will be displayed on the admit card, hence, candidates should get familiar with the route prior to avoid the last-minute rush. 
  • Candidates should sit in their seating arrangements and no modification will be entertained. 
  • Candidates can not enter the examination hall once the exam starts. 
  • The JEE Main admit card along with photo identity card are only allowed to the exam hall. Candidates who possess both are only allowed to take the examination. 
  • The male candidates have to wear Shirt/T-shirt and Jeans/Trousers along with floaters/slippers.
  • The female candidates can wear Top or T-shirt and Jeans or Leggings/Salwar along with floaters/slippers. They should wear only flat footwear. 

Forgot JEE Main Application Number And Password

Without application number and password, candidates can't download the JEE Main admit card. If candidates forgot their login credentials, they can retrieve the same by following the below steps. 

1. Visit the JEE Main admit card page. 

2. Click on ''I can’t access my account''

3. Two options will be displayed 

  • (a) I forgot my application number 
  • (b) I forgot my password

4. Click on ''Continue'' button. Three options will be displayed. 

  • Security question and write the answer. 
  • Verification code sent to registered mobile number. 
  • Reset link through registered email 

5. Choose any one option.

6. Candidates will be redirected to a new page where they have to fill mandatory fields such as personal details and security pin. 

7. After submitting, the JEE Main admit card will be available.

NTA has been vested with the power to conduct the JEE Main by the HRD Ministry. It has also decided to conduct the JEE Main twice a year. Paper I will be conducted with computers. However, in the case of paper 2, the mathematics and aptitude test will be conducted with computers and drawing will be conducted with pen and paper. 

Candidates who qualify in the JEE Main will get admission to India's pioneer institutes such as NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates who qualify and get merit in JEE Main are also eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced. One should preserve the JEE Main admit card which is also required to check the JEE Main result.
