Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Exam

How to Apply For JEE Main

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Notification, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc. Now, AIEEE will be known as JEE (Main) and IIT - JEE as JEE (Advanced).

For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weight age to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weight age to JEE(Main). The weight age to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization.

JEE Main Mode of the Examination:

  • The Paper-1 (described below) of JEE (Main) will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode.
  • The Paper-2 of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode.

A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 only. Online Registration for JEE Main 2017:

In order to appear in JEE (Main) and/or JEE (Advanced) 2017, the candidates are required to apply only online. The candidates are further advised to visit the website before filling up the application form for ascertaining their eligibility for appearing in the examination as well as for admission.
