Central Teacher Eligibility Test Syllabus

CBSE has released a notification for the 20th edition of the CTET.

The entrance exam is going to be conducted twice a year for teaching positions from class 1 to 8 in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya, Central Tibetan Schools and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya besides schools under the administrative control of the union territories (UTs).

CTET 2026 Syllabus:

The CBSE CTET Exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 & Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for teachers in Classes 1 to 5, and the CTET Paper 2 is for teachers in Classes 6 to 8. The CTET 2026 Syllabus comprises section-by-section subjects for both examinations, from which questions in the test are asked.

CTET Paper 1 covers topics from five sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language - I, Language - II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
CTET Paper 2 covers topics from four sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language - I, Language - II, and either Mathematics & Science OR Social Studies / Social Sciences.

CTET Syllabus 2026 the CTET 2026 Exam evaluates applicants' eligibility to teach in government schools such as KVS, NVS, Private Schools, State Government Schools, and others. Aspirants must take CTET 2026 Paper 1 if they want to teach in Classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 if they want to teach in Classes 6 to 8. Those who wish to teach across all grades from 1 to 8 must pass both exams. Candidates who intend to take the CTET Exam should structure their studies right now. The CTET September 2026 exam process is currently underway. The offline CTET 2026 examination will take place on 6th September 2026 (Sunday).
