CTET Examination Pattern

Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct 20th Edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) - The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024 Session.

Central Teacher Eligibiltiy Test will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) online modes across the country at various exam centres. To ace the CTET December 2024 Exam, it is necessary to know the Exam pattern and detailed syllabus of the exam. This will assist you in properly preparing for the CTET Exam. Let us go over the CTET Exam Pattern. The CTET Exam will consist of Multiple Choice Questions. CTET 2024 Exam will consist of two papers.

CTET 2024 Exam will be conducted online as a Computer Based Test (CBT). CTET Exam 2024 comprises two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2.

The schedule of CTET-2024 is mentioned below:

The Paper-II will be held in the morning session and Paper-I in the evening session. The main question paper will be bilingual (Hindi/English).

The exact date and shift of the examination will be mentioned on the admit card of the candidate.

Structure and Content of CTET:

All the questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of CTET:

(1) Paper I, will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(2) Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note:

A person who intents to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

CTET Exam Pattern - Paper II

The CTET Paper - I exam is divided into 4 sections. Candidates have to choose between Mathematics & Science and Social Science in Paper 2. Total number of questions and marks distributions for Paper - 2 is given below:

Language I : Shall focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instructions. Candidate is required to select any one from the Language list.

Language II : Shall focus on the elements of language, communication & comprehensive abilities. Candidate is required to select any one from the Language list.

NOTE :

1. Language II should be different from Language I.

2. The candidates must attempt questions in languages opted by him as mentioned in the Admit Card. In case the questions are attempted in any other languages, the candidature of such candidates shall be cancelled.
