National Aptitude Test in Architecture Exam

NATA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are aiming to appear for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) examination have to meet all the eligibility requirements set by the Council of Architecture (COA). The organising body has made some key changes in the eligibility criteria. 

NATA 2022 Highlights 

The examinations will be conducted in three attempts. Candidates have to note that the online registration for three attempts will start from April 8th, 2022.

NATA Educational Requirement 

Candidates who passed 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate at the 10+2 level examination are only eligible. Aspirants those who are appearing for the 10+2 exam with PCM subjects in the current year can also appear for the exam; however, their result in NATA-2022 will be declared valid subject to fulfilling the above criteria.

Credentials For Admission To B.Arch Course 

The information bulletin clearly states that qualifying in NATA does not constitute a right/ guarantee in favour of the candidate for his/her admission to any architecture course unless he/she has fulfilled all the prescribed requirements as specified by respective counselling and admission authorities. Hence, candidates who satisfy the following credentials are eligible for admission to B.Arch course. 

  • Qualified through the recognised aptitude test in Architecture (NATA or equivalent).
  • Have gone through any of the following curriculum with marks as prescribed below: Secured 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate at the 10+2 level examination

Note: 

  • Aspirants should note that no direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification. 
  • NATA is a qualifying examination for admissions into the B.Arch. degree program. Reservation does not fall under the purview of this examination.
