How to Apply For JEST

The JEST 2024 Application form will be available on the official website from 05 January, 2024 and it will end up on 24 January, 2024. Before completing the application form, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligiblity requirements. The JEST 2024 test will be held on 3rd March, 2024.

The Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) is an aptitude exam for applicants interested in pursuing a degrees in Physics, Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience, or Computational Biology. This exam is jointly administered by numerous institutes, Including IISc, IISERs, NISER, and others. The formal notification for JEST 2024 will be released soon on the official website of the TATA Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

JEST is recognized as a National Eligibility Test (NET) by the Science and Engineering Research Board (BSER). Students who perform or conduct research in Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) - related programs will be eligible for an upgraded fellowship. To be eligible for the same, they must also qualify for NET. The JEST 2024 Score is accepted by around 30 Institutions / Colleges.

Level & Frequency: The Joint Entrance Screening Test (NET) is administered at the national level. This exam is held once a year in the month of April.

Paper Mode: The JEST Exam is given on paper (offline). The JEST Question Paper is divided into three sections, each of which has Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

Candidates who meet all the eligibility criteria have to start filling up and submitting applications for JEST 2024 which via online mode only. To apply online, candidates must create an account using a valid email-id and the same email-id will be used for all communications with the candidates. Applicants have to submit the application form through the created account. After submission, a unique submission number will be sent to the email-id. 

The eligiblity examination is valid for applicants who have qualified for the NET Examination and want to take advantage of the benefits of passing the JEST 2024 Exam.

JEST 2024 Application Form

Candidates will be able to access the application form in January, 2024. The registration process for the JEST application form 2024 will be completed in March, 2024. Candidates must fill out the JEST 2024 application form once they have confirmed that they match the eligiblity conditions. Registration

Candidates can register for the JEST 2024 Exam on the official website, according the official statement. The application form will be available in January, 2024.

Steps To Apply Online For JEST 2024

Step 1: Candidates should register themselves before login. 

Step 2: To start the registration, click on the "register to appear for the exam" link on the Homepage.

Step 3: Candidates will receive an email with the account information after registering with a valid email-id. 

Step 4: One should follow the instructions given in the email for resetting the password and further login.

Step 5: Login to the homepage of JEST with the username (email id) and password. Fill the form and save it, or, modify an already saved form. Press the "Submit Application" after entering all the mandatory fields. 

Step 6: Upload passport size photo and scanned signature.

Step 7: Pay the application fee online using SBI Epay. 

Step 8: Once the online application form is submitted, no further changes will be accepted. 

JEST 2024 Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of INR 400. However, for SC/ST/ female applicants the application fee is INR 200. One should pay the application fee using debit/ credit cards and net-banking. The application fee is waived for female applicants belonging to SC/ST. Candidates are advised to go through the refund policy before paying the application fee.

On successful submission of online application form, candidates will receive an e-mail with information such as Unique Submission Number and filled in data from the JEST Website. Candidates are advised to save the e-mail for future correspondence with the JEST authority.

Prese the "Submit Application" button only when you have fed and checked all the mandatory entries

  • Upload your passport-size photo and scanned signature in jpg format.
  • Pay the application fee online.
  • After nine submissions of the application form and successful e-payment of the application fee, your submission procedure will be complete.
  • No modification will be allowed after this step.

  • Candidates must upload a scanned copy of their photo and signature.
  • Candidates must sign with a black ball pen. If the photograph on the admit card is not printed, you must attach a passport-size photo.

Refund Policy

Once paid, the fee will not be reimbursed. If a candidate inadvertently pays the fee twice, a refund is only available if the matter is brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities.

Even if the money is returned, the processing fee is deducted and returned to the candidate. If the funds do not reach the candidate's account, they will be reimbursed to the Payment Gateway provider.
