Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to Ph.
D/ Integrated Ph.D Programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience courses across various institutes. Candidates who registered for the JEST 2025 have to appear for the entrance exam to be conducted on 06th April, 2025.
Candidates who are preparing for PhD programme in Theoretical Computer Science have to focus on areas such as Analytical Reasoning and Deduction, Combinatorics, Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory and Principles of Programming.
In each of these areas, familiarity with the basics (including the necessary simple mathematics) is assumed. There are questions mainly of two types – requiring short answers as well as detailed problem-solving.
1. Entrance Examination : Candidates must appear for the JEST exam in their chosen subject.
2. Result Announcement : Result will be declared online, and candidates can access their score by logging into their accounts on the official website.
3. Interview process : Shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews by the particiapting institutions. Each institutions may have its own criterial and process for selection.

5. Final Admission : Based on the performance in the entrance test and interviews, institutions will offer admission to selected candidates.
Participating Institutes will conducted JEST 2025 Counselling Separately. The Institutes will produce a list of individuals who have been shortlisted for interviews based cut off. Once the applications have been shortlisted, they will be contacted for an interview.
They will send out the interview dates and locations via email and SMS. Following the intweview process, candidates must attend counselling to guarantee their seats in their preferred college.
