The Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) 2025 Exam is conducted for those candidates who wish to pursue PhD Courses in Theoretical Computer Science, Physics, Neuroscience and Computational Biology.

Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) is a pen and paper-based test that consists of multiple-choice questions. The exam will be conducted in a single session. According to the sample paper released by the official website of JEST, the question paper for physics will be divided into three parts. The JEST exam duration is three hours and it is PBT. The maximum number of marks is 100. The distribution of questions are as follow.

Exam Mode: Pen & Paper (Offline)

Question Types: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), also known as Objective Type.

Exam Language: Only English.

Exam Time: 3 Hours (180 Minutes)

Total Sections: Three divided into Parts A, B and C

Marking Scheme: Correct Answers in Part A and B earn +3 points. Part C, on the other hand, will result in a +1 mark for each accurate response.

Negative Marking: For each inaccurate response, 1 Mark will be deducted in Part A and -1/3 Mark in Part C. Part B receive no negative feedback.
