Common Entrance Examination for Design Exam

What is CEED Exam?

Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay on behalf of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India to offer admission to aspirants in Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD programmes.

On the basis of a candidate’s score in CEED exam, he/she can secure admission in M.Des course at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IISc Bangalore, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur and UPES Dehradun and Ph.D programme on offer at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur.

Aspirants who have qualified GATE will also be considered for admission in M.Des programmes offered at IISc Bangalore and IIT Kanpur.

The objective of the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is to evaluate the candidate’s aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.

CEED 2019:

The registration for CEED 2019 will start on October 9, 2018, and it will end on November 9, 2018. Whereas, the CEED 2018 exam will be held on January 19, 2019.

Application Fee:

For all Women Candidates: INR 1100 + GST
For SC/ST/PwD Candidates: INR 1100 + GST
For all Other Candidates: INR 2200 + GST

CEED 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

The applicants must have passed a degree/diploma/pg degree of 4 years or 3+2 years (after Higher Secondary) or appearing for the final examination by July 2019.

CEED 2019 Admit Cards:

Admit Cards will be available to download from the official website from the 1st week of January 2019 till the exam date. A candidate has to take a printout and it is mandatory to bring the admit card to the examination centre.

The examination consists of two parts, i.e. Part A and Part B. A candidate has to attempt questions from both the parts compulsory. Part A will be conducted from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and Part B from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

CEED 2019 Examination Cities (Tentative):

A candidate has to choose 3 cities in the order preference at the of online registration. CEED 2019 committee plans to conduct the examination in the following cities:

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Vishakhapatnam.

Apart from above participating Institutes, CEED 2019 results will also be shared with the following Institutes, which will allow some seats in their M.Des programmes for admission through CEED 2019 for the academic year 2019-2020:

  • Anant National University
  • Lovely Professional University (LPU)
  • Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology
  • University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES)
  • Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University
  • World University of Design (WUD)

CEED Application Process To Begin From October 9

The online registration for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is all set to begin from October 9, 2018. The entrance exam is conducted for admissions to Masters of Design (M.Des) programme being offered by IIT Kanpur, IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Delhi and IISc Bangalore.

CEED entrance examination will be held on January 19, 2019. This national-level entrance exam will be conducted in two parts - Part A and Part B. Candidates who qualify in Part A are eligible to appear for the Part B of the examination. The merit list will be prepared based on marks secured in the Part B only. CEED 2019 Notification Released

The IIT, Bombay has released the notification of CEED 2019 exam. The complete details on the official website will be available on September 25, 2018.

The online registration process for CEED 2019 is going to start from October 9, 2018, until November 9, 2018. A candidate who seeks to apply for this entrance examination must fulfil the CEED 2019 Eligibility Criteria.

At the time of registration, an aspirant has to choose 3 cities based on his/her availability. The CEED 2019 exam consists of two parts that are Part A and Part B.
