Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) 2025 SYLLABUS
CEED Syllabus 2025: IIT Bombay has released the syllabus for CEED 2025 on its official website.
Additionally, the CEED Information brochure 2025 includes a course outline.
To understand all of the syllabus's information including exam section, subject-specific theme, and weighting, the candidate must read it through.
PART A of the CEED 2025 entrance test will be administered online, and Part B will be administered offline.
The themes for each section as well as the kinds of questions and skills that will be assessed are highlighted in the CEED curriculum. In addition to the syllabus, the candidate should review the CEED exam pattern because it will outline the examination's structure, the division of the questions into sections, and the scoring methodology. Take note that in the previous edition, IIT Bombay changed the UCEED Syllabus and exam format. To be admitted to the B.Des Program, candidates must pass the UCEED test.
It's critical to finish the CEED coursework, work through sample papers, and take mock exams if you want to do well on the tes.
CEED 2025 will be in two parts (A & B). Part-A will have questions related to the following topics:
Visualization and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
Practical and scientific knowledge: Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects.
Observation and design sensitivity: The capacity to detect concealed properties in daily life and think critically about them. Attention to detail, classification, analysis, inference and predication.
Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social and cultural connections with design.
Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information.
Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English.
Creativity: Grasp of verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols.
Art and Design knowledge: Awareness about art / artifact / product, artists / designers, art / design history, and trends.
Design methods and practices: Knowledge of media, materials, production processes and ergoomics.
PART-B of CEED 2025 will have questions related to the following topics:
Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.
Creativity: Ability to think out of the box and come up with unique as well as diverse solutions.
Communication: Skills to communicate concepts and ideas clearly with the help of text and visuals.
Problem identification: Skills to understand the user and the context, knowledge of properties of materials and their appropriate use in design.
CEED 2025 is an aptitude test; hence, no specific textbooks or guide is recommended for its preparation. Candidates may, however, practise their drawing, rendering and visualization skills. Question papers of some previous years are available on the official CEED Website.
NOTE: Exam administrators do not recommend any books for preparation because CEED in an aptitude test. However, it is advised that the candidate work on their rendering, visualizing and drawing abilities.
Question paper from other years may also be a useful resource for getting ready for CEED 2025. Pay closer attention to Part B of the CEED 2025 exam. A total of 25% of the overall CEED 2025 score will be allocated to Part A, and 75% to Part B. Thus, the candidates needs to focus THREE times more on Part B during exam preparation!.
