NEET PG Selection Procedure

Candidates are advised to note that appearing in NEET PG 2025 does not guarantee admission to MD / MS or Post Graduate Diploma Courses.

Qualification in the exam is merely a prerequisite and does not ensure automatic entitlement to a postgraduate seat.

Admission to any postgraduate medical course - MD, MS, or PG Diploma - in institutions recognized under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, is subject to meeting all eligibility requirements. This includes satisfying admission criteria set by the respective universities, medial institutions, the Medical Council of India (MCI) / National Medical Commission (NMC), and the Central / State Governments, along with being medically fit as per prescribed standards.

The candidates may not that NBE has no role regarding counseling and allotment of MD / MS / PG Diploma seats. NBE will not entertain any queries regarding availability of seats, counselling and allotment of MD / MD / PG Diploma seats.

Reservations:

For counselling to be conducted by DGHS:

• For information regarding reservations in institutions for which counselling shall be conducted by DGHS, please visit Medical Counseling Committee website www.mcc.nic.in

For States/Union Territories - 50% State Quota Seats and Private Medical Colleges/ Institutes/Universities/Deemed Universities:

• Reservation policy and guidelines applicable in different states/UnionTerritories of India will be followed for the respective State/Union territory quota seats
• NBE shall be providing only the data of candidates and the marks scored by them in NEET-PG to the State Governments / Counseling Authority without applying the reservation prevalent in the concerned States/Private Medical Colleges/Institutes/Universities
• The merit list and category wise merit list for the concerned State shall be generated by the State themselves as per applicable regulations, qualifying criteria, applicable guidelines and reservation policies

For Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions:

Candidates opting for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma seats in Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) Institutions shall select the following option in the NEET-PG 2025 online application form:

Note:

There is no certain reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates in the Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions
