NEET PG Eligibility Criteria

The National Board of Examinations in Medical sciences (NBEMS) conducts the NEET PG exam every year for medical graduates seeking admission to postgraduate medical course like MD, MS and PG Diploma Programs in India.

The NEET PG eligibility requirements are made pubic by the authorities at nbe.edu.in. The deadline for completing the internship to be eligible for NEET PG 2025 is 31 July, 2025. Canddiates must have completed or except to complete their internship by this date.

Candidates should be aware that the NEET PG Eligibility requirements cover all significant requirements related to age, education, qualification, certifications, and other requirements. Applicants who do not meet the NEET PG 2025 age requirements will not be permitted to proceed to the counselling stage of the admissions process. The NEET PG Examination is adminsitered by computer. Admission to Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) Programs offered by government-designated medical universities and other private medical colleges across the country will be made possible by NEET PG 2025.

The candidates in possession MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognised as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the NMC / the erstwhile Medical Council of India or State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the internship on or before 31 July, 2025, may apply for NEET-PG 2025 through online application system at https://nbe.edu.in

NEET PG 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The date of the NEET PG 2025 exam is 15 June, 2025. The NEET PG Examination eligibility requirements for 2025 will be made public by the administration in an informational pamphlet. The Information bulletin will address the prerequisites individually for Foreign Nationals (FN), Foreign Medical Gradutes (FMG), All India Quota (AIQ) 50% Seats & Common Requirements.

Candidates who have completed their MBBS from India must:

Possess MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certfiicate recognized as per the provisions of the NMC Act, 2019 and the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023.

And

Possess Permanent or Provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the NMC the erstwhile Medical Council or State Medical Council - And

Candidates must have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the internship or before 31 July, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria For All India 50% Quota Seats:

The candidates who have studied/qualified MBBS from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota seats. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible for All India 50% quota seats.

Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he/she was nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir.

The affidavit is to be sent to the following address along with the print out of the acknowledgement of online application form for NEET-PG 2024 latest by 27 January, 2023. It the candidates fail to submit the affidavit as indicated will not be considered for participation in All India 50% quota counselling.

Candidates who have done their MBBS from Jammu & Kashmir but fail to submit the affidavit as indicated above will not considered for participation in All India 50% quota counseling.

Eligibility Criteria For Foreign Medical Graduates:

The candidates from Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical Colleges outside India should have qualified the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (Screening Test) which is conducted by National Board of Examinations.

Further, they should have been registered with MCI/SMC and should have completed their internship or likely to complete their internship on or before 31 July, 2025.

Foreign Medical Graduates are required to bring their FMGE Pass certificate issued by NBE on their testing day.

Eligibility Criteria For Foreign Nationals Graduates:

For Foreign Nationals, it is not mandatory to have temporary registration with National Medical Commission (NMC) at the time of writing NEET-PG. So, the Foreign Nationals can write NEET-PG without MCI registration.

The MCI may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies.

Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in his own country where from he has obtained his Basic Medical qualification and is duly recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or concerned authority.

A candidate can submit his/her online application form and appear for NEET-PG 2025 only once for admission to the academic year 2025-2026. Candidates submitting multiple application forms will not be allowed to appear in NEET-PG.
