How to Apply For NID

National Institute of Design (NID) has released the notification on 03 September, 2024 in online mode on the official website - admissions.

nid.edu. NID 2025 will start the registration process for NID DAT 2024 from 03 September, 2024 and the application form will be closed on 03 December, 2024 till 4:00 PM.

Interested candidates who satisfy all the prerequisities can apply through online mode. Candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with the eligibility criteria, number of seats, reservation policy, test centres and other relevant information related to admissions prior to the application process.

Candidates who will submit the application form successfully can appear in the NID DAT 2025 Exam, which is conducted in two phases - DAT Prelims & DAT Mains. NID DAT Prelims will be conducted on 05 January, 2025 in pen and papaer mode (Offline).

Candidates must keep the documents ready prior to filling out the NID DAT Application Form. The step to fill in the NID DAT Registration form 2025 are mentioned below:

Here are the steps to register for NID 2025-26

Step 1: Sign up/Registration

All the candidates are required to register / sign up online (by selecting Programme of Study, National & Category) before proceeding to fill the application form.

Step 2: Fill-in Personal & Educational Details 

Log in and proceed & Fill in all the required details and click on ‘Save & Proceed’ to go to the next section to ‘Upload Document’.

Step 3: Uploading Your Documents & Signature

Candidates should upload a scanned passport photograph which must be in JPG/JPEG format and not exceeding 100 KB in size.

It must be a coloured photograph taken at a professional studio. The signature file should be in JPG/JPEG format and not exceeding 100KB in size.

Category Certificate issued by a competent authority (GEN-EWS & OBC-NCL)

  • Note that the EWS and OBC-NCL certificates must be issued on or after April 01, 2024 (based on the gross annual income of the financial year 2023-24).
  • Also, the certificate must be issued in the name of the candidate.
PDF Up to 2 MB

Category Certificate issued by a competent authority (SC, ST)

  • A competent authority should issue the certificate

PwD Certificate PDF Up to 2 MB

Overseas Candidate:

  • Image of the first and last page of the passport

Step 4: Pay Application Fee And Print

Category-Wise Application fees for Academic Year 2025 are as under :-

NOTE : The application fee is neither refundable nor transferable and the fee is applicable at all the three institutes.

Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference after paying the prescribed fee amount.

The above fees are applicable to all M.Des. Candidates, irrespective of gender.

The Application fees paid online (by Debit/Credit Card) DOES NOT INCLUDE any bank transaction charges/Convenience fee, and the same, as applicable, will have to borne by the candidate.

Candidates will be asked verify their details, after which they can proceed to make the payment.

You will be directed to the payment gateway. After completing the payment process, you will be redirected to the 'Print' section where you can save and / or print a copy of your application form (which would be done only after successful payment of the application fee).

How to make corrections in NID Application Form?

Candidates can edit their NID Application form by following the instructions listed below:

Step 1: Go to official website - admissions.nid.edu

Stpe 2 : Enter your date of birth & email address to access the application rectification portal.

Step 3 : Select any option by clicking on it.

1. Application Detail : Verify the information you filled up when singing up

2. Upload Document : To reupload the scanned copy of your signature& photo.

3. Print Application : To print the application once again.

Step 4 : Select the "Save" option.
