AIBE - All India Bar Examination is a national-level entrance examination is conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
The All India Bar Examination were considered and approved by the Bar Council of India at its meeting held on 30th April, 2010, wherein it was decided by the Council that the examination shall be mandatory for all law students graduating from the academic year 2009-2010 onwards, and that candidates may apply to appear in the examination only after enrolling as advocates under section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
The Objective of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is to examine an advocate's capability of practice the profession of law in India. The AIBE will assess skills at a basic level, and is intended to set a minimum benchmark for admission to the practice law; it addresses a candidate's analytical abilities and understanding basic knowledge of law. After passing the examination candidate will be awarded "Certificate of Practice" by the Bar Council of India.
AIBE is certification exam conducted twice a year by Bar Council of India of law graduates willing to start practice of profession as Lawyer. The exam is conducted in 50 cities having 140 centres as a open book. Candidates will have 23 languages to choose for attempting the examination.
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has issued the timetable for the 19th Qualification test for Indian Nationals. All applicants with a legal degree from a foreign university are eligible to take the BCI 19th Qualificaton test. The dates of the BCI XIX (19) qualifying exams hve been revealed, The qualifying exam will be held from 18 to 23 December, 2023. The Bar Council of India is located at 21, Rouse Avenue, Institutional Area, New-Delhi-110002. The BCI XIX (19) Exam will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Candidates should be aware that the paper will be three hours long and worth 100 marks, according to the BCI Qualifying exam format 2023. Candidates will be authorised to bring bare actions and books, including question answer guides, notes, and others, inside the exam venue.
"For Candidates who have appeared in the examination previously and have one or two or more subject papers to clear, this examination is giving an opportunity of re-examination to all those candidates, who have not cleared all the papers in the previous exam, "according to the official press release. These candidates will only be needed to appear in that topic paper.
The Bar Council of India will release the All India Bar Examination 18 (XVIII) Results 2023 soon. Candidates who have appeared for the AIBE 18 Exam can check the results using their registration number and password, candidates who took the test can obtain their score card and view their qualifying status.

The Bar Council of India has not yer formally confirmed the date of the AIBE 18 (XVIII) result announcement. However, the OMR Sheet evaluation process is currently underway and is expected to be finished by the second week of January 2024.

The Bard Council of India has schedule the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XIX (19th) 2023 for December, 2023.
The AIBE XIX (19th) Qualifying Exam will be held from 18 December to 23 December, 2023 and the exam will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Interested and qualified applicants who have not yet applied for the AIBE can do so online at https://www.allindiabarexamination.com/. The BCI has revealed the passing percentages for several applicant categories. Those in the general & OBC Categories must have at least 45% while those in the SC, ST and Disabled categories must get at least 40%.

The All India Bar Examination is administered by the Bar Council of India in the following manner:
Step 1: Apply for AIBE 19 Exam
Candidates must first apply for the AIBE Exam online using the BCI's official website. The AIBE Application process is divided into three stages: Registration, Application Form Completion, and Application fee payment. The AIBE application cost is INR 3,560 for the General, OBC, Gen-PwD, and OBC-PwD Categories, and INR 2,560 for the SC, CT, SC-PwD, and ST-PwD Categories. Fees can be paid in two ways: online (By Netbanking, Debit Card or Credit Card) or offline (via Bank Challan).
Step 2: Download the AIBE 19 Admit Card
AINE Admit Cards will be distributed to all applicants who have successfully submitted the AIBE 19 Application Form. They must use their registration ID & password to download the admission card from the BCI's Official website. AIBE 19 Admission Card will include all relevant exam information such as test date, time, centre address, and so on.
Step 3: Appear for AIBE (19) Exam
Candidates must take the exam at the designated AIBE Test centres. Previously, AIBE was an open book examination, which allowed candidates to bring their own study materials, such as books, notes, and so on, inside the exam hall. However, Beginning in 2021, AIBE will no longer be an open-book exam. Candidates can only perform Bare Acts without the use of short notes.
Step 4:Check AIBE Answer Key
After the exam, BCI Posts the AIBE Answer Key on its official website for applicants to review. The Council first issues a proivsional answer key for the exam, followed by the final answer key. Candidates can obtain an accurate estimate of their exam score by using the AIBE Answer Key.
Step 5: Check AIBE Result
BCI Announces AIBE Results on its own website after the final answer way is released. Candidates can access their AIBE exam results by entering their roll number and date of birth on the official website.
Step 6: Get AIBE Certificate of Practice (CoP).
Finally, Individuals who pass the bar exams are given a Certificate of Practice. The BCI notifies qualified candidates when COP is available, following which they can receive if from their state bar councils.
Candidates who wish to complete in AIBE must also meet the eligibility conditions for obtaining COP. The following are some of the primary features of the AIBE 2024 eligiblity criteria:
Candidates must have obtained their LLB degree from a recognized university in India, with at least 45% for general candidates and 40% for SC/ST/PwD Candidates.
Aspirant must have graduated from law school at least three years prior to the examination date.
A candidate must be provisionally registered as an advocate with their respective state bar councils. Enrollment in the State Bar Council is required for AIBE eligibility.
Candidates who are taking the AIBE Test for the first time must ensure that they meet the BCI's eligibility requirements. If an applicant is determined to be ineligible at any point during the process, their application will be rejected, and their exam fee will not be returned. As a result, before applying for the AIBE Exam, It is critical to thoroughly understand the eligibility conditions. Candidates who are not registed with the State Bar Council as an advocate will be unable to apply for AIBE 2024.
Interested candidates who satisfy the eligibility conditions will be allowed to apply online for the AIBE exam through the official portal www.allindiabarexamination.com. It is mandatory to enrol with their state bar council before kick-starting the AIBE registration 2023. Aspirants should pay Rs 3,500/- as the registration fee to submit the application fee.

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the All India Bar Exam, AIBE 17 Syllabus.
Candidates can check the AIBE Syllabus 2022 on the official website - barcouncilofindia.org. The candidates must note that no new topics have been added or no subject - wise weightage has been revised in the syllabus.
