All NEET (UG) - 2025 aspirants are hereby informed that the question paper pattern and examination duration will revert to the pre-COVID format. Where there will not be any Section B anymore. Hence, they will be a total of 180 compulsory questions (45 questions in each Physics & Chemistry and 90 in Biology) which will be attempted by the candidates in 180 minutes thereby removing any optinal questions and extra time introduced due to COVID.

Question Paper Pattern:

The question paper will consist of 180 compulsory questions.

The provision for optional questions, introduced temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, will no longer be available.

Examination Duration:

The total duration of the examination will be 180 minutes (3 hours).

NEET Exam Pattern 2025: Overview

Exam Pattern of the test:

The test pattern of NEET (UG) - 2025 comprises four subjects. Each subject will consist of two sections. Section A wil consist of 35 Questions and Section B will have 15 Questions, out of these 15 Questions, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 Questions. So, the total number of questions and utilization of time will remain the same.

The pattern for the NEET (UG) - 2025 Examination for admission in the Session 2025 is as follows:

The Entrance Test shall consist of 200 multiple choice questions (four options with a single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

50 Questions in each subject will be divided into two sections (A and B). The duration of the Examination will be 200 minutes (3 Hours 20 Minutes) from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (Indian Standard Time) and shall be uniform for all candidates.

NEET (UG) - 2025 will be conducted in 13 Languages i.e. English, Hind, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

• The duration of the paper would be three hours twenty minutes.
  
• Candidates can opt for question paper in English and Hindi
• The option of Question Paper should be exercised while filling in the application form and the option once exercised by candidates cannot be changed later
• Candidates who are opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only and the candidates who are opting for Hindi would be provided Test Booklet in both Hindi and English, i.e., Bilingual
• In case of any ambiguity in the translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final
• There is negative marking, one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer
• The question paper is objective type with multiple choice questions

Important Points to Note:

(a) For Section A (MCQs) : To answer a question, the candidates need to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following Manner:

(i) Correct answer or the most appropriate answer : Four marks (+4).

(ii) Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).

(ii) Unaswered : No mark (0)

(iv) If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct option.

(v) If all options are found to be correct then Four Marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

(vi) If none of the options is found correct or a Question if found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question have been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

(b) For Section B (MCQs) : Candidates need to attempt any 10 Questions out of 15 Questions given. In the event of a candidate has attempted more than 10 Questions, only the first 10 attempted questions will be considered for evaluation. There will be also be negative marking for section B. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following manner.

(i) Correct Answer : Four Marks (+4)

(ii) Incorrect Answer : Minus one mark (-1)

(iii) Unanswered : No Mark (0).

(iv) If more than one option is found to be correct the Four Marks (+4) will be Awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.

(v) If all the option are found to be correct then Four Marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

(vi) If a question is found to be incorrect or the Question is dropped then Four Marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error.

(vi) Candidates are advised to do the calculations with constants given (if any) in the questions.

5. In case of any ambiguity in the translation of a question in the test, its English version shall be treated as final and the decision of NTA shall be final in this regard.

6. Candidates qualifying for NEET (UG) - 2025 would be eligible for All India Quota and other quotas under the State / Governments / Institutes, irrespective of the medium of the examination, subject of other eligibility criteria.
