NEET MDS Eligibility Criteria

The NBE's official information brochure now includes the NEET MDS 2025 eligiblity requirements.

The deadline for the purposes of the eligibility requirements is 31 March, 2025. Applicants may apply for the dentistry postgraduate entrance test if they meet the NEET MDS 2025 eligibility requirements. Applicants who do not meet the NEET MDS eligibility requirements will not be permitted to take the exam.

Candidates must be Indian Nationals, Overseas Nationals of India (OCIs), or Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) in accordance with the most recent revision to the NEET MDS Eligibility criteria 2025. The NEET MDS 2025 will be conducted by entirely online. In order to take the postgraduate MDS entrance test, candidates must be aware of and meet the NEET MDS 2025 eligibility requirements. The basic NEET MDS Norms, NEET MDS Agre Restriction, Nationality, Qualification, Work Experience, and other facts are mentioned in the NEET MDS Eligibility criteria 2025. If a candidate does notmeet the eligibility requirements, they will not be permitted to take the NEET MDS Exam.

The eligibility criteria for MDS seats shall be in accordance with MDS Course Regulations notified by DCI with prior approval of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

Eligibility Criteria For All India 50% Quota Seats:

The candidates who have studied/qualified BDS from the UT of Jammu & Kashmir are also eligible for All India 50% Quota seats. These candidates shall also be eligible for participation in 'Grant of Short Service Commission in Army Dental Crops' and for MDS admissions in Armed Forced Institutes.

Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he/she was nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir.

The affidavit is to be sent to the following address along with the print out of the acknowledgement of online application form for NEET-MDS 2025 latest by February, 2025.

It the candidates fail to submit the affidavit as indicated will not be considered for participation in All India 50% quota counselling

Eligibility Criteria For Foreign Dental Graduates:

The candidates from Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained their Primary Dental Qualifications from Dental Colleges outside India will have qualified the Foreign Dental Graduate Examination (Screening Test) which is conducted by National Board of Examinations.

Further, they should have been registered with DCI and have completed their internship or likely to complete their internship on or before March 31, 2025. Foreign Dental Graduates are required to bring their FDGE Pass certificate issued by NBE on their testing day.

Eligibility Criteria For Foreign Nationals Graduates:

For Foreign Nationals, it is not mandatory to have temporary registration with DCI at the time of writing NEET-MDS. So, the Foreign Nationals can write NEET-MDS without DCI registration.

The DCI may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies.

Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his / her own country where from which he / she has obtained his / her Basic Dental qualification and that his / her degree is recognized by the corresponding State Dental Council or concerned authority.

A candidate can submit his/her online application form and appear for NEET-MDS 2025 only once for admission to the academic year 2025. Candidates submitting multiple application forms will not be allowed to appear in NEET-MDS.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET MDS 2025 - Who are not qualified?

Take a close look at the following elements to understand why an applicant isn't allowed to show up at the NEET MDS entrance.

A candidate will not be permitted to sit the exam if they are found to be in breach of the NBE - imposed eligibility requirements for the NEET MDS 2025.

In any event, the candidature of any eligible candidate who passes the entrance exam shall be subsequently canceled.

As previously stated, students will not be recognized for the NEET MDS exam if they do not finish their twelve-month rotatory internships by the deadline established by NBE.
