JEE Advanced is an entrance exam for engineering courses held by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.
Only 1,50,000 of the top JEE (Main) Scorers from all categories (GE, OBC (NCL), SC and ST) will be eligible to compete in JEE Advanced (formerly known as IIT-JEE). The following is the pattern for the
JEE Advanced Paper: There will be two objective type papers in the JEE Advanced: Item I and Item II Each Paper will consist of three sections: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The question paper will be in either Hindi or English, depending on the language selected by the candidate on registering for the exam.
A Total of 50.5% of the 1,50,000 (75,750 candidates) will be taken from the top rankers of the Common Merit List (CML) of JEE (Main). 27% (40,500), 15% (22,500) and 7.5% (11,250) candidates will be taken from the top rankers of the category rank lists of OBC-NCL, SC, and ST, respectively. The candidates figuring in the category rank lists will be those who do not figure in the 75,750 candidates chosen from the CML.
A Total of 3% of the candidates selected within each category will be those belonging to PWD (Persons with Disability) sub-category, who figure in the respective rank lists of JEE (Main).
The selection procedure for JEE Advanced 2025 involves multiple stages:
1. Eligiblity Criteria:
Candidates must qualify for JEE Main 2025 and rank among the 2,50,000 across all categories.
They should meet age and attempt limits (maximum two attempts in consecutive years).
For IIT admissions, candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent in 2024 or 2025.
2. Registration:
Eligible conditions must register online for JEE Advanced 2025. This includes filling out the application form, uploading required documents, and paying the registration fee.
3. Admit Card:
Candidates can download the admit card containing exam details, incuding the date, time, and venue.
4. Examination:
JEE Advanced consists of two compulsory papers, each covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The exam tests analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Result Declaration:
Results are published on the official portal, including category-wise ranks and overall performance.
6. Rank List:
The rank list is prepared based on aggregate scores in both papers. A minimum percentage in each subject and overall is required to qualify.
7. JoSAA Counseling:
Qualified candidates participates in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Seat allocation depends on rank, preferences, and category.
Success in JEE Advanced opens doors to premier institutions like IITs, offering world-class education and opportunities.
Candidates who have qualified for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling will be needed to apply for counselling after the JEE Advanced Result is announced. The JoSAA counselling process is a consolidated admissions process for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other partner schools.
The minimum qualifying marks required for candidates to be eligible for admission to various undergraduate programs at IITs and other participating institutes are referred to as the JEE Advanced 2025 Cutoff. The cutoff marks are determined by factors such as the exam's difficulty level, total number of candidates, and seat availability.
The cutoff marks differ for each category (General, OBC, SC, ST, and so on) and are issued following the announcement of JEE Advanced results.C Candidates must meet the cutoff marks in order to be considered for counselling and seat allocation. The JEE Advanced 2025 Cutoff is used to select students for admission.
You can find the JEE Advanced 2025 Cutoff in the Table below:
The following are the minimum marks and percentage required to qualify the JEE Advanced:
