West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) was established in 1962 by Govt. of West Bengal. It is a state level entrance test, conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board annually.
The examination is conducted to offer admissions to many private and government undergraduate engineering and pharmacy institutions in West Bengal. Candidates who come out with the qualifying marks in the exam can seek admission in universities, government colleges and self-financed institutes of West Bengal.
Application for WBJEE 2019 has to be done through online mode and there is no offline mode to register. The registration will start in the third week of December 2018 and it will end in the third week of January 2019.
The applicants are required to appear for two papers in WBJEE 2019. The papers are:
Aspirants appearing in both papers and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy courses in all institutes. Whereas, aspirants appearing in Paper II only and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission in Pharmacy courses only.
Questions are to be answered on a specially designed optical machine-readable response (OMR) sheet, which will be evaluated by the method of Optical Mark Recognition. Thus it is very important to follow the correct method of marking.
In every subject, all the questions will be multiple choice questions and have four options in that one will be the correct answer. Candidates have to choose the correct answer by darkening the appropriate circle completely with blue/black ball point pen. The correct answer will yield a +1 mark whereas, an incorrect answer will yield -1/4 marks.
The examination is going to be conducted in the fourth week of April 2019. Admit Cards will be available on the official website to download from the second week of April 2019.
Candidates must fulfil the required eligibility criteria of WBJEE 2019 in order to appear for the WBJEE 2019. The eligibility criteria specify the academic requirements along with pass percentage and age limits for admissions to the engineering and pharmacy courses in West Bengal.
Candidates need to have a working contact number and a vaild email Id. All the future communications by the board will be sent to the respective contact number and email Id.
The application fee can be paid either in cashless mode by Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card or in cash using Allahabad Bank e-challan, which will be automatically generated for downloading once the same option is selected.
The applicant has to take a print of the e-challan and deposit the fees in cash in any branch of Allahabad Bank with Core Banking Services (CBS).
Application Fee - INR 500 + GST
Allocation of examination centre will be based on the choices given by the candidate during online form fill-up. However, discretion of the Board in allocation of examination centre shall be final. No request for change of allocated centre will be entertained under any circumstances.
