WBJEE Selection Procedure

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2025, scheduled for 27th April, 2025 is a state-level examination to undergraduate programs in engineering, technology, pharmacy and architecture in West Bengal.

The selection process involve multiple stages, ensuring a fair and transparent process. Here's an overview.

1. WBJEE Application Process

  • Candidates must fill out the online application process form on the WBJEEB Official website within the specified time.
  • Ensure all details, including personal information, academic qualifications, and documents, are accurately submitted.

2. WBJEE Admit Card Issuance

  • Download the admit card from the official portal once it is released.
  • Verify all details and carry the admit card to the examination center on the exam day.

3. WBJEE 2025 Examination

  • The exam will be conducted offline (OMR-based) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects.
  • Performance in this exam is the primary criterion for selection.

4. WBJEE Result Declaration

  • WBJEE will release the results in the form of a rank card, showing scores and ranks.
  • Separate ranks for engineering, pharmacy and architecture will be asigned based on subject combinations attempted.

5. WBJEE Counseling Process

  • Qualified candidates must register for online counseling, where choices of colleges and programs are submitted.
  • Seats and allocated based on rank, preference and availability.

6. WBJEE Document Verification

  • After verification, candidates are allotted seats in participating colleges.
  • Complete the admission formalities, including payment of fees, to secure the seat.

The WBJEE selection process emphasizes merit and transparency. Candidates should adhere to deadlines and instructions for a smooth admission journey.

WBJEE 2025 - The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the entrance exam. After qualifying in the exam students should register in online counselling sessions by paying the counselling fee through e-challan at Allahabad bank. Candidates should visit the official website of WBJEE to register online. Candidates are eligible for counselling based on two types. 

Type 1: Through WBJEE

Type 2: Through JEE(Main)

Online registration and payment of counselling fee:

  • Online Registration by both the types of candidates is allowed only in the 1st round of counselling through single interface irrespective whether they are eligible JEM seats or JEE seats.

    No fresh registrations will be allowed in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of counselling

  • Candidates who have registered online and made payment of counselling fee are eligible for choice filling

  • Registered candidates are required to submit their choices (in order of institute and branch) online from any internet point during the specified period

  • Choices will be shown as per candidate eligibility (whether the candidates are eligible for WBJEE seats or JEE (Main) seats or for both)

  • Candidates are required to submit the single set of choices against WBJEE seats & JEE (Mains) seats, even if they are eligible for both

Online Choice Filling:

  • For the three rounds choice, the filling is allowed only once before the 1st round of counselling. No fresh choice submission or alteration of existing choices is allowed in the 2nd and 3rd round of counselling

  • The choices submitted by candidates in the 1st round will be processed up to 3rd rounds for up-gradation if the candidate desires through willingness at RC

  • Candidates can fill in as much number of choices in the order of preference as they wish to from the list of available choices

  • Candidates are permitted, if they so desire, to change or re-order their choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their final choices

Choice locking:

  • Candidates must lock their choices only after they have finalized. After the choices are locked, candidates will not be able to change their choices

  • A printable version of the choices along with the terms and conditions agreed by the candidate at the time of registration is displayed once the choices are locked

Seat allotment:

  • During seat allotment, the choices submitted by the candidates will be processed centrally and seats will be provisionally allotted in the order of merit as per AIR for JEE(Main) seats and as per General Merit Rank(Engineering)/General Merit Rank(Pharmacy) for JEM seats on the basis of the locked choices

  • The allotment result will be available on the website.

    Individual allotment letters will not be sent to the candidates by post. However, candidates must get a printout of the allotment details from the website
