What is NEET MDS Exam?

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Master of Dental Surgery (NEET-MDS) is a competitive entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

NBE was established in 1975 and it is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. NBE was established as a Society under Delhi Society registration act, to standardizing postgraduate medical education and examination in India.

It is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various Post Graduate MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948.

NEET-MDS is a single window entrance examination for Dental PG courses. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS Courses as per Dentists Act, 1948.

NEET-MDS 2019 shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Dental Courses for the academic session 2019 which will include the following:

  • All India 50% quota seats for MDS courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
  • State quota seats for MDS courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
  • MDS Diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country
  • MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions

Note:

Registration and submission of application form for appearing in the NEET-MDS 2019 are to be undertaken online at the website www.nbe.edu.in. Application forms cannot be submitted in the offline/printed copy by post.

The following Dental institution is not covered by centralized admissions for MDS seats through NEET-MDS for 2019 session:

  • AIIMS, New Delhi

PG seats of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to be included in 50% All India Quota Seats 2019 subject to confirmation by the respective State Governments to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

Registration Process:

The online registration will start in last week of October 2018. Online registration and submission of the application form must be completed by last week of November 2018.

Aspirants eligibility is purely provisional & is subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the NBE/DCI/University/Dental College or Institute. Click here to know more about NEET-MDS 2019 registration process.

For SC/ST/PwD Candidates - INR 2750/-
For General/OBC Candidates - INR 3750/-

The examination will be held on December 14, 2018, in a single session. The online registration and submission of application form for NEET-MDS 2019 for admission to MDS Courses for 2019 session are available at NBE website.

A candidate has to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test. Therefore, the choice of the city will depend on the availability of the test centre in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis.

NEET MDS 2019 Online Application Window To Close On November 6

The last date to apply online for NEET MDS 2019 exam is tomorrow, i.e., November 6, 2018. NEET MDS, which is conducted for the admission to MDS programme across the dental institutes in the country, is a single-window entrance examination. 

The organising body, National Board of Examination (NBE), has opened the application window on October 16 for NEET MDS 2019. Candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from a recognised institute can apply online for NEET MDS 2019. To know more about the NEET MDS eligibility criteria, click here

 Candidates should start filling the registration form for obtaining the user ID and password which will be sent through SMS and email. One should fill the application form besides uploading the photograph and signature. The application fee for general candidates is INR 3750. However, the fee is INR 2750 for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD categories. Click here to read more about NEET MDS application form.  

The NEET MDS 2019 will be held on December 14, 2018. The duration of this computer-based test (CBT) is three hours. The four marks will be allotted for every correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for negative marking. Explore the NEET MDS exam pattern here.

NBE Starts Online Registrations For NEET MDS 2019

National Board of Examination (NBE) has started the application process for NEET MDS 2019. NEET MDS is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to MDS programme. Just like NEET MBBS and NEET PG, NEET MDS is also a single-window entrance examination for admission to MDS programme across the country.

In order to register for NEET MDS, candidates should possess a valid degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery. The eligibility criteria for MDS seats will be based on the MDS course regulations notified by DCI. Know more about the NEET MDS eligibility criteria here

NEET-MDS 2019 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The examination will take place on December 14, 2018, and it will be a single day in a single session. A candidate has to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test during the time of online registration.

The NEET-MDS 2019 exam comprises 240 multiple choice questions through online and it is a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Single correct response questions in English language only. The duration of this exam will be 3hrs. Click here to know more about the NEET-MDS 2019 Exam Pattern.
