What is NEET MDS Exam?

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Master of Dental Surgery (NEET-MDS) is a competitive entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

NBE was established in 1975 and it is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. NBE was established as a Society under Delhi Society registration act, to standardizing postgraduate medical education and examination in India.

It is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various Post Graduate MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948.

NEET-MDS is a single window entrance examination for Dental PG courses. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to PG MDS Courses as per Dentists Act, 1948.

NEET-MDS 2020 shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Dental Courses for the academic session 2020 which will include the following:

  • All India 50% quota seats for MDS courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
  • State quota seats for MDS courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
  • MDS Diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country
  • MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions

Note:

Registration and submission of application form for appearing in the NEET-MDS 2020 are to be undertaken online at the website www.nbe.edu.in. Application forms cannot be submitted in the offline/printed copy by post.

The following Dental institution is not covered by centralized admissions for MDS seats through NEET-MDS for 2020 session:

  • AIIMS, New Delhi

PG seats of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to be included in 50% All India Quota Seats 2019 subject to confirmation by the respective State Governments to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

NEET-MDS 2020:

Registration Process:

The online registration will start from 11th October 2019 from 3:00 PM Onwards. Online registration and submission of the application form must be completed by 31 October, 2019.

Aspirants eligibility is purely provisional & is subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the NBE/DCI/University/Dental College or Institute. Click here to know more about NEET-MDS 2020 registration process.

For SC/ST/PwD Candidates - INR 2750/-
For General/OBC Candidates - INR 3750/-

The examination will be held on December 20, 2019, in a single session. The online registration and submission of application form for NEET-MDS 2019 for admission to MDS Courses for 2019 session are available at NBE website.

A candidate has to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test. Therefore, the choice of the city will depend on the availability of the test centre in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis.

NEET MDS 2020: MCC Reopens Registration For Deemed Universities

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced re-opening of fresh registrations for Deemed Universities. Here are some interesting points.

  • The last date to report to the allotted colleges after NEET PG counselling for stray vacancy round is extended till August 14, 2020.
  • NEET PG/MDS counselling 2020 registration facility for Deemed Universities will re-open on August 4 and close on August 7, 2020.
  • One can pay for the facility till 11:59 PM on August 7, 2020.
  • The allotted candidates list will be directly sent to the respective colleges.

NEET MDS 2020: Mop Up Round Result Announced

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the NEET MDS 2020 counselling mop-up round result. 

The notice reads, "It is for the information to all the candidates that the provisional result for Mop UP Round of Medical/Dental NEET PG Counselling 2020 is now available. Final result will be displayed after 2.00 PM on July 21, 2020. Any discrepancy in the result in terms o merit violation may be immediately informed to MCC of DGHS till 2 PM of July 21 through email on the Email ID - mccresultquery@gmail.com" 

The sources suggest that a total of 1,166 candidates have been selected in the provisional mop-up round result. A total of 117 candidates are selected for deemed, and central MDS institutes.

NEET MDS 2020: Round 2 Counselling Allotment Letter Released

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the allotment letter for the 2nd round of NEET MDS counselling 2020. The counselling process has begun from June 16, 2020. 

Candidates who have been allotted seats in the NEET counselling would be required to be present physical along with their documents. It has extended the reporting to June 30.  

Candidates who have participated in the second round but could not get upgraded for Round one seats can exit without forfeiture of security deposits from June 16 to June 18, 2020.

NEET MDS 2020: Round 2 Counselling Dates Announced

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the NEET MDS round 2 counselling dates. Candidates can visit the official website to check the dates. The registration process for the round two counselling would begin from June 3, 2020.

NEET MDS Counselling was recently in the news as the Supreme Court of India has asked NBE to consider only one round of counselling to be conducted for the admissions through NEET PG. Check the dates here. 

  • New Registrations beginning date- June 3, 2020
  • Last date to register for the second round counselling - June 9, 2020 – Till 10:am
  • Choice filling dates- June 4- June 9, 2020
  • Result for the second round dates- June 12, 2020
  • The last date for joining institute allotted- June 18, 2020

The NEET MDS counselling is being done for 50 per cent seats of All India Quota for the Deemed/ Central Universities, ESIC and AFMC institute.

NEET MDS Result 2020 Declared

The National Board of Examination (NBE) has released the NEET MDS result 2020 on January 15. Candidates who have appeared for the written examination on December 20 can check their results on the official site. 

Candidates can check their roll number in pdf through the search option. The result also displays the score out of 960 and rank. Check the complete overall merit position of the candidates amongst all the candidates who have appeared in the NEET MDS 2020.

The minimum cut-off score for general category out of 960 is 286. It is 250 for SC/ST/OBC and 268 for UR-PWD. Individual scorecard of the candidates will be available from January 18, 2020, onwards.
