National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Master of Dental Surgery (NEET-MDS) is a competitive entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
NBE was established in 1975 and it is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. NBE was established as a Society under Delhi Society registration act, to standardizing postgraduate medical education and examination in India.
It is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various Post Graduate MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948.
NEET-MDS is a single window entrance examination for Dental PG courses. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS Courses as per Dentists Act, 1948.
NEET-MDS 2019 shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Dental Courses for the academic session 2019 which will include the following:
Registration and submission of application form for appearing in the NEET-MDS 2019 are to be undertaken online at the website www.nbe.edu.in. Application forms cannot be submitted in the offline/printed copy by post.
The following Dental institution is not covered by centralized admissions for MDS seats through NEET-MDS for 2019 session:
PG seats of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to be included in 50% All India Quota Seats 2019 subject to confirmation by the respective State Governments to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
The online registration will start in last week of October 2018. Online registration and submission of the application form must be completed by last week of November 2018.

The examination will be held on December 14, 2018, in a single session. The online registration and submission of application form for NEET-MDS 2019 for admission to MDS Courses for 2019 session are available at NBE website.
A candidate has to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test. Therefore, the choice of the city will depend on the availability of the test centre in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis.
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) is responsible for conducting the allotment process and counselling. Candidates who qualify in the NEET MDS examination can start choice filling/ locking. The counselling will be held in two rounds. The most important thing is MCC will transfer the non-reporting & non-joining/ vacant seats to state quota, if candidates fail to report before the last date.
MCC will be conducting the counselling for 50 % All India Quota seats for all State Govt. medical/dental colleges/institutes, except the state of Jammu and Kashmir as per merit of NEET MDS. The seats in the Deemed Universities are also filled as per merit. The PG counselling also include for institutes of Armed Forces Medical Services.
According to the official sources, 50% institutional quota seats for Central Universities of Delhi University, Aligarh Muslim University, and Banaras Hindu University. The state government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also participating in the online counselling of All India Quota from the academic year 2018-19 onwards.

The official notice released by MCC has stated that the transfer of non-reporting & non-joining/ vacant seats to state quota (at 6:00 pm) April 22, 2019 (only 50% All India Quota).
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), which will be conducting the allotment process and counselling for NEET MDS, has released the 2019 counselling schedule. The counselling will be conducted in two rounds. Candidates can start the registration/payment from March 15 in the round one counselling. The result will be declared on Marc 27, 2019.
Candidates can also participate in the second round of counselling after the conclusion of round one. The entire counselling process for NEET MDS will be completed by April 22, 2019. Thereafter, the vacant/non-joining and non-reporting seats will be transferred to state government.
