Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) Lucknow is all set to conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) for the year 2023. Candidates must have to know the duration and pattern of the exam. CAT 2023 is conducted for admission to management programs in IIMs and top B-Schools across the nation.
CAT 2023 will be conducted in test centres spread across around 155 cities. Candidates will be given the option to choose the Six Optional Cities. CAT Centre will try it best ensure that a candidates gets one of the preferred options. In case of high demand in the particular region, CAT Centre reserves the right to allot a centre close to the any of the preferred options.
Once a centre is allotted to a candidate, no change is permitted.
CAT 2023 will be conducted on 26 November, 2023 (Sunday) in three sections, Morning Afternoon and evening on the same day.
CAT 2023 is a Computer Based Test (CBT). Therefore, candidates have to answer within 120 minutes (2 hours). It contains 3 sections with a total number of 100 questions. CAT 2023
exam pattern remains on the lines of CAT official Mock test released by IIMs a month before the CAT exam.

Candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. Tutorials understand the format of the test will be available on the CAT website. Candidates are advised to work on the tutorials available on the CAT Website well in advanced.

Each section is time bound for one hour and candidates are not allowed to switch between any of the sections within this one-hour duration. However, candidates are free to answer any of the questions within a particular section. Candidates need to ensure high score in each of the 3 sections as there is also a sectional score cut off in IIM's for shortlisting.
