GPAT Selection Procedure

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is conducted once in a year for admission to M.

Pharma or its equivalent courses. The GPAT score is accepted by over 800 participating institutes spread across the country. The organiser of GPAT, National Testing Agency (NTA), is responsible only for conducting the written examination and issuing the scorecard. 

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2025 is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). It serves as a gateway for admission into Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) Programs across India. The selection procedure for GPAT 2025 encompasses several stages, from registration to final admission. If you're aiming for a sear in top M.Pharm Programs, clearing the GPAT 2025 is your first bit step. Conducted by teh National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), GPAT is the gateway to several prestigious pharmacy institutions in India. Here 's how the selection process unfolds from state to finish:

Step 1: Online Registration & Application

Your journey starts with the online registration on the official NBEMS website. Candidates must:

  • Register using a valid email ID & phone number
  • Fill in academic, personal and contact details
  • Upload necessary documents like photograph and signature
  • Pay the exam fee online (Rs. 3500 for General, Rs. 2500 for reserved categories)
  • Once submitted, download the confirmation page and keep it safe for reference.

Step 2:  Download Admit Card

  • A few days before the exam, candidates can download their admit cards from the offical website.
  • The admit card will carry essential details such as exam center, date and time and instructions.

Step 3: Appear for GPAT 2025

  • Exam Date : 25 May, 2025
  • Mode : Online Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration : 3 Hours (180 Minutes)
  • Questions : 125 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Marking : +4 for each correct answer, -1 for wrong answers
  • The paper is based entirely on the B.Pharm Syllabus

Step 4 : Answer Key & Result Declaration

A provisional answer key will be released shortly after the exam for student reivew.

  • Candidates can challenge any incorrect answers with a given window.
  • The final answer key will be punished after reviewing objections.
  • GPAT 2025 Results are expected to be announced by June, 2025

Step 5: Merit List & Cutoff

A merit list is prepared based on GPAT Scores

  • Each participating college / universities sets its own cutoff marks
  • Cutoffs vary depending on category, seat availability, and institutional policies.

Step 6: Counseling & Admission

  • Counseling is not centralized. You need to apply separately to institutions that accept GPAT Scores.

Admission is granted based on :

  • GPAT Score & Rank
  • College Cutoff
  • Category / Reservation Criteria
  • Choice fllling and availability of seats

Candidates must also go through document verification and fee payment at their chosen institution.

 

''The NTA does not collect the information regarding the total number of seats available in the institutions and reservation criteria followed by the institutions.''

Candidates have to appear for the computer-based test (CBT) and obtain the minimum qualifying marks. The NTA will issue the GPAT score card through online mode. The qualified candidates are eligible for counselling. 

Documents For GPAT Counselling

  • Identity card issued by the government (voter id card, Aadhar card, etc.)
  • Academic documents (Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheet) 
  • Migration certificates 
  • Graduation mark sheets and provisional certificate from a recognized university.
  • GPAT Scorecard 

Candidates will be allotted admission based on the marks obtained in the written exam and category. 

Additional Notes

GPAT Scores are valid for one academic year

Over 800+Institutions, including NIPERs, Central, State and Private Universities, accept GPAT Scores.
