Tips to get maximum benefit out of last minute studying

By Super

The talent of 'last minute studying' still prevails as one of the many arts of learning just before the exams. Less time, better grades. There are some students who bank on this method for better grades. Some call it 'revision time', and sometimes it is called 'brush up' time too.

Learning is not limited to a particular way of acquiring knowledge, not even restricted by time.
If there is an undisturbed interest to learn, one can learn any way, even in the last minute.

Few tips to harness 'last minute prep' or 'revision time' can be as follows:

Smart Read
There are points which cannot be overlooked. Try to pay attention to learn them specifically. Grasp the summary of the lessons. Get hold of the primary meaning of the plot or portion of the lessons. Understand as much as you should, to memorise the concepts shortly and rightly. Just looking at your study materials wouldn't bring grades. Ensure you learn and remember it.

Way of concentration
Although your aim would be to get the maximum benefit out of the minimum time left at hand, it needs to be done neatly, with an undivided focus. Remember that time isn't really waiting for you, and all you need is fair grades. Accordingly, try to concentrate harder on each thing that you study and understand.

Practice on what is required
Know the tests, know the subjects, before you prepare. Do not practise what you'll not be tested on. Be specific to the subject. For instance, if you have test on English-grammar, then practice only on that particular portion. Practise and learn the material more than memorising it.

Master the skill of exam
Online games could be the best example for last minute preparations. It certainly takes skill to play those instant on-the-spot games though. Writing exam can be one such spree. Master the skill by making them and not trying it when you revise. Think that you're in the actual exam and practise retrieving information to remember it.

Tips for last minute study

Get some rest
Stay far from tension. Stress is common, but do not give in to it. Relax. Act normal, but get smarter with your time in glancing through your notes and subjects. Napping may help integrate your memories. It may not be advisable to stay up all night to go through your papers.

In addition, just try as much as you can to keep yourself organised in every step of your last minute revision time. Learn how to learn better and get maximum benefit out of your studying time.
