TWS, Ranchi Bags 41 medals: International Mathematics Olympiad 2015-16

Taurian World School,a leading co-educational international residential school in Ranchi, India recently participated in the International Mathematics Olympiad 2015-16 (IMO). The students at TWS won 18 Gold, 11 Silver and 12 Bronze medals and bagged a total of 41 medals at the IMO. This outstanding performance at the International, State and School level has helped the school usher in the New Year on a very encouraging and positive note. This is by no means an easy feat.

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students and is held annually in a different country. The first IMO was held in 1959 in Romania, with 7 countries participating. It has gradually expanded to over 100 countries from 5 continents. The IMO Advisory Board ensures that the competition takes place each year and that each host country observes the regulations and traditions of the IMO.

Taurian World School with an A+++ rating is known for the amazing exposures it gives to its students. The school recently sent three of its brightest students for a one-week internship at CERN Labs, Geneva, from October 24 to 31, 2015. The students participated in a week long certified programme under the guidance of top ranked scientists and engineers of CERN, The European Organisation for Nuclear Research that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world and is home to the Large Hadron Collider.
