KU Forms Sub-Committee To Look Into the Ph.D. Admissions Delay

Kakatiya University(KU) had notified that admissions for the Ph.D. programmes had begun and many students had applied for the programme In the last few weeks, the process for the admissions have been delayed.

Though the process was initially already a bit behind the schedule, the further delay was set with the administration of the university constituting a subcommittee. This subcommittee will be examing the students' representation for the reconsiderations of the norms fo the students belonging to Category II of 2015 -16.

Kakatiya university authorities had issued a combined notification for Ph.D. and M.Phil admissions in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 years in February 2017. These exams were conducted in April 2017. The admissions never took place and thus the enraged students took it to staging protests citing alleged slip-ups in the announcement of the results.

The students have reached a point of the protest where their demand stop the administration of the university is to change the usually ways by offering admissions based on the guide willing and other methods. The university has thus appointed the sub-committee to assess the situation.

The sub-committee which consist of five members is headed by Prof Y Prameela Devi. The committee is asked to submit the report by November 11, 2017. Professors S Sreenath, S Kamaleshwar Rao, and K Purushotham are the other members of the sub-committee along with the deputy registrar (academic branch).
