Indian varsities in top 500 QS World Universities Rankings 2014

QS World Universities Rankings for the year 2014-15 has been released. Like every year, Indian varsities failed to appear in the top positions.

In overall ranking, this year IIT Bombay placed 222nd position in world university rankings and 1st Indian universities in rankings. In 2013, it was in 233rd position.

IIT Delhi was in 222nd position in the year 2013. But this year, it slipped to the 235th position. It came second in the Indian universities in world rankings. IIT Kanpur was placed in the 300th position. [Indian Universities in Top 100 Asian University Rankings 2014]

In academic reputation, IIT Bombay was placed in the 160th position, IISc Bangalore in the 185th position and IIT Delhi in the 199th position. [IISc Bangalore in Top 500 Academic Ranking of World Universities 2014]

In employer reputation, IIT Bombay was placed in 60th position, IIT Delhi is at the 90th position and IIT Madras at the 144th position. [IIT Delhi at 13th place in BRICS QS University Rankings 2014]

The survey was conducted based on the parameters of academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty students ratio, international faculty, international students and citations per faculty.
