IIT Ropar extends last date to apply for Ph.D programme

IIT Ropar extends the the last date to apply for Ph.D programme. Earlier, the last date to apply for the course was 31st March, 2014. IIT Ropar will be conducting an entrance exam in order to short list the candidates for Ph.D programme.

Streams:

• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Humanities and Social Sciences

Eligibility:

Chemistry:

First class (6.5 point out of 10) or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in master or equivalent degree in Chemistry/ Bio-Chemistry/ Materials Science and Technology/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Biotechnology.

Mathematics:

First class (6.5 point out of 10) or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences or equivalent master's degree.

Humanities and Social Sciences:

55% (or 6 point out of 10) in M.A./M.Sc./M.Com/M.Tech/ MBA with UGC-NET. However, exceptional candidates having B.Tech/ BE qualification with valid GATE score can apply for direct admission to Ph.D programme.

Physics:

First class (6.5 point out of 10) or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in M.Sc in Physics/ B.Tech in engineering Physics/ M.Tech in relevant areas. Candidates meeting this requirement must also fulfill one of the following additional requirements tenable for current year:

a) Valid GATE score.
b) UGC/CSIR NET qualification.
C) DST-INSPIRE Fellowship.
