Karnataka II PUC 2014 results creates history!

The Karnataka state Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Rathnakar announced the II PUC board examination 2014 results today at 8.30 AM.

History claims that for the first time in the last 10 years, Karnataka II PUC has reached a successful 60.47 pass percentage. Significant rise is being seen when compared to past performances. The pass percentage in 2004 was 48.99% and it reached an all-time low in 2008 with 41.31%.

The number of students registered for this year's examination was 6,16,112 students, out of which 6,13,705 appeared. A total of 3,71,116 students cleared the examination.

A total of 3,15,028 boys appeared for the exam, out of which 1,71,556 (54.46%) cleared the exam. 1,99,560 (66.81%) girls out of 2,98,677 passed the exam.

This year, the results of rural students were high when compared to urban students with 61.51% of rural and 60.15% of urban students passed the exam.

Students of 1,23,279 (51.25%) out of 2,40,536 from Arts, 1,40,023 (70.08%) out of 1,99,815 from Commerce, 1,07,814 (62.19%) out of 1,73,354 from Science streams passed the exam.

This year, more number of English medium 2,09,224 (65.36%) students passed the exam as compared to Kannada medium students 1,61,892 (55.14%).

Around 36,344 students passed in distinction, 1,83,788 in first class, 69,914 in second class and 39,768 in third class.

Mathematics paper has got most number of students who have scored 100 out of 100 in one subject. Around 3,543 students have got 100 marks in the Maths paper. 2,325 students have got 100 marks in Accountancy paper.

92,603 (63.85%) students from government PU colleges, 74,040 (67.38%) from aided PU colleges, 1,21,292 (72.60%) from unaided PU colleges, 1,337 (66.15%) from corporation colleges and 40,542 (72.71%) from bifurcated PU colleges have passed the examination.
