The timetable for the HSSC Goa Class 12 board exams has been released by the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education. The exams will be conducted from 1st March 2017 to 22nd March 2017. The exam begins at 10:00 A.M.

The timetable for the HSSC Board Class 12 exams has been released by the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education. The exams will be conducted from 1st March 2017 to 22nd March 2017. The exam begins at 10:00 A.M.

Some of the unique and interesting subjects that the class 12 board offers are Olericulture ( the science of growing vegetables), floriculture ( the science of growing flowers), mental hygiene, secretarial practice, co-operation and domestic & computer appliances.

Last year the exams were held from February 29, 2016 to March 22, 2016. About 15,000 students attended the state board examination, back then.

About GBHSE

The main state board of education in the state of Goa is the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (abbreviated GBSHSE). It is the official body responsible for secondary and higher secondary education management in its affiliated schools. It is an education board native to the state of Goa. It was founded on 27 May 1975 under the "The Goa, Daman and Diu Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Act, 1975".

What does GBHSE do?

  • Grant and withdraw recognition to the Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools
  • Advise the government on matters of policy relating to secondary and higher secondary education in general and other matters
  • Lay down guiding principles regarding curriculum and syllabi for the entire secondary and higher secondary courses and to prepare the detailed syllabi for all standards of secondary and higher secondary education.
  • Advise the Government in the standard requirement in respect of staff, buildings, furniture, equipment, stationery and other amenities required for secondary and higher secondary schools.
  • Prescribe and prepare textbooks for all standards of secondary and higher secondary education
  • Prescribe conditions for admission of regular and private candidates to the final examinations
  • Declare the results of the candidates at the final examinations conducted by it.
