What is the difference between the education system in India and USA?

By Deepak

It is quite interesting and intriguing to study the difference between Indian education system and other countries. Here, we have chosen the education system in USA for the comparative study. Education system in India is thousands of years old. India had world's topmost universities such as Nalanda which were flocked by students not only from different corners of India but also from different parts of the world.

Even today, India is on the forefront of education by producing highest number of engineers and doctors who are not only serving domestically but also upholding the pride of India on the foreign lands. Right from gifting 'zero' to the world to producing excellent brains who can easily crack the most difficult medical and engineering entrance exams, India has proved time and again that it is treading the path to become the face of future education.

Education in India and the US

Even though, there are so many aspects to prove India's achievements in the field of education, comparative study is the best way to see where Indian education stands or what is its place compared to education imparted in other corners of the world. So here is a brief write up on education system in India and USA.

  • Indian students are far more disciplined than those in the US
  • Indian kids are taught values such as respecting neighbours, family and teachers which leads to their organized and successful academic journey. Most of the kids in the US are deprived of families which handicaps their educational growth
  • Children in India have the advantage of receiving education at vocational schools at an early age which helps them be skilled enough to lead a self-sufficient life as soon as they complete their education. Whereas, kids in the US are not privileged to study under such circumstances as their schooling begins at a much later stage of life
  • According to the award winning teacher from San Diego, Keith Ballard, in India, education tops the list of priorities. Governments spend a lot on infrastructure, scholarships and other areas related to education.

Whereas, in the US, education is seen as a social problem. Most of its money is spent on wars and related matters.

India is thus heading towards the bright future.

Further, the recent revolutionary movements like Transform India and Digital India have taken education one step ahead from the technological point of view. Although China has been a tough competitor to India in the field of education, India still stands strong with its own outstanding contribution in the same field and producing thousands of talents every year.
