What comes after the class 10 board exams might be intimidating to many students because they experience crossroads for the first time in their career. One has to face to question, 'what to do after this?' throughout their career, whenever one reaches an important milestone.

Be it central or state, the boards have started releasing the results of class 10 students. The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has recently released the results for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC). What To Do After Class 10 In Karnataka

Shift To CBSE Or ISC

After 10th, there is no SSLC in Karnataka. If you wish to choose PUC after 10th, there is no issue. If you want to shift to ISC or CBSE, you may find a bit difficult because students already pursuing an education under these boards have an advantage. If you are aiming for ISC or CBSE, we suggest you pick a good college where the class is not packed with too many students.

Pre-university Course

Students who have cleared the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and aiming for admissions to Indian universities must pursue this course. This program consist of three streams, namely science, commerce and arts.

Science: This is one of the lucrative options to pursue after 10th. The career options are plenty after pursuing courses in the science stream. Students are allowed to take up arts or commerce after pursuing science courses in PUC; however, this is not possible for arts and commerce students. Some of the best pre-university courses in the science stream are:

  • Physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology (PCMB)
  • Physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science (PCMC)
  • Physics, chemistry, mathematics and electronics (PCME)

Commerce: Students who wish to pursue their career in economics and accounting can take up courses in the commerce stream. This will lead to jobs such as investment banking, financial advising and chartered accounting. Students who are aiming for management courses are also advised to take up the commerce stream.

Arts: If you are passionate about languages or humanities, you can choose the courses in the arts stream. This stream offers a wide range of courses on social work, journalism, designing, etc.

Diplomas In Engineering

If you are one amongst the aspiring engineers, you can start your career with a diploma in an engineering course. SSLC is the prerequisite for pursuing a Diploma in Engineering. However, an additional certificate is required along with SSLC to pursue a few diploma courses in engineering. Some of the diploma courses in engineering are:

  • Diploma in mechanical engineering
  • Diploma in electrical engineering
  • Diploma in civil engineering
  • Diploma in chemical engineering
  • Diploma in electronics and communications engineering
  • Diploma in computer science and engineering
