Competition is skyrocketing in every sector; education is no exception. Students these days are carrying with them an enormous burden which is nowhere less than an adult working in an organisation. The highly dedicated students are often found scratching their heads with the continuous thought about how to emulate their counterparts.

It is seldom brought to notice that the main reason behind this increasing stress is our society. Parents tend to ignore the stress their children are going through and are more concerned about their mark sheets instead. Well, now students need to start tackling this pressure imparted by the people around them and should start implementing their own set of strategies to handle academic stress.

1. Get Rid Of Result Stress

Before you go on to implement any smart and effective strategy, you need to first banish the thought of the result day. What will your parents say? How will your friends and relatives react? It makes no sense to brood over such things which haven't even occurred yet. It will only divert your focus.

 

 

2. Set Your Own Goals

There's no denying that while pursuing a course, you are competing with hundreds and thousands of other students. However, that doesn't mean you keep comparing your grades with your peers. Just remember how much you had scored in the last exam and decide to perform better this time.

 

 

3. Make A Good Survey Of Your Syllabus

Before you start studying a random topic from a random subject, sit with the syllabus in your hand. Inspect every subject and every chapter included in it. This will give you a clear picture of the height of the mountain you need to climb. Surveying your syllabus will help you better plan your schedule of study.

 

 

4. Distribute Your Work In A Timetable

We don't need to tell you that it's not just studying and appearing for the exam that is involved in your schedule. You are also asked to submit a pile of assignments, project thesis, experiment journals and so many other things. Thus, distribute your activities in a timetable to manage the submissions while studying regularly.

5. Take Frequent breaks

New studies suggest that it is comparatively more effective to study for short intervals with frequent breaks than doing it continuously for a long period. Study for 40 to 45 minutes then take 15 minutes break. Either listen to a soft music or do anything which makes your brain lively again.

6. Do It With Your Friends

We often remember discussions we had with our friends on a particular topic, regardless of how long ago it was. In the same way, when we study in groups, the concepts we discuss make a permanent footprint in our minds that last for longer than we can imagine. Just make sure the discussions remain educational.

 

 

7. Stop Mugging, Start Understanding

If you have this habit of reading every paragraph or solving a sum around 10 times to remember it by heart, you need to stop practising this method of learning right away. This is not a good idea to remember the aspects for many days. Instead, understand the matter thoroughly by proper reading and research which will help you store it in your memory for years.

 

 

8. Stay Fit

Staying fit is crucial for everyone but students need to be profoundly concerned about their fitness. It is a universally known fact that a healthy mind can only be developed with a fit body. Participate in sports, jog daily and do everything that requires physical effort. It will help your body to stay energised all the time while keeping your mind active relentlessly.
