The countdown for the prestigious National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has began. This national-level entrance test conducted for admissions to medical courses is scheduled on May 6, 2018. With the release of admit cards for NEET, it is high time for the aspirants to start preparing. Over 12 lakh candidates are expected to take this year's NEET in more than 150 cities spread across the country.
Everyone will look at your NEET score rather than at your preparations and strategies. Hence, it's extremely important for every aspirant to do well during the last one week in order to gain a good score in NEET. The last one week should be focused only on the most important chapters besides memorising the basic concepts and formulae. You have to be confident with the basic concepts and the most important formulae and equations in physics and chemistry.
While coming to the important chapters or topics, CBSE, which conducts NEET, has just laid down the syllabus and there is no mention about the important chapters. However, based on the previous year's question paper we have listed the weightage. The below are the subject-wise important chapters for NEET 2018 one should read during the last stretch of the examination.
NEET 2018 Important Chapters In Biology
In the biology subject, not more than six questions were asked from a single unit. Thus, it would be a difficult task to say which chapter is most important for the exam. After analysing the previous years' question papers, we decided to split biology into two parts, namely zoology and botany.
Botany: The ecology, molecular basis of inheritance and plant kingdom units have more weightage with a total of 24 marks from each chapter. The genetics and reproduction in flowering plants occupies the second position. The cell biology and plant anatomy are the least important units.
Zoology: Undeniably, the human physiology unit takes the lion's share in this subject. One can expect more than three questions about the digestive system and endocrine system. In the biomolecules, DNA, enzymes, lipids and RNA processing are the most important chapters. The animal kingdom and biotechnology have the equal weightage in the exam. However, never ignore microbes in the human welfare and human health and disease.

NEET 2018 Important Chapters In Physics
If you are confident with the mechanics and electrodynamics, you can tackle more than 20 questions in NEET 2018. In mechanics, rigid body dynamics and modern physics are the most important chapters. In the electrodynamics unit, on an average two questions are expected from the electromagnetic field.
Around three questions are expected from the KTG & thermodynamics chapter in heat & thermodynamics unit. Interestingly, from the past few years, the weightage for the SHM & waves was increased.
NEET 2018 Important Chapters In Chemistry
Without any second opinion, every aspirant can say that organic chemistry has more weightage.
The alkyl halide, alcohol & ether and carbonyl compound are the important chapters in organic chemistry. While coming to physical chemistry, the key important chapters are chemical equilibrium besides thermochemistry, chemical kinetics and electrochemistry.
In inorganic chemistry, focus should be on the chemical bonding, coordination compounds and d-block & f-block elements. However, one should not neglect the unorthodox chapters such as surface chemistry, mole concept, environmental chemistry, general organic chemistry and metallurgy.
NEET 2018 Important Information
During the last week, aspirants should give at least two full-length mock examinations to understand the question format and deal the exam stress. One can find NEET previous years' questions papers here. Aspirants are also suggested to know all the useful information about NEET 2018 including the dress code and barred items.
