The All India Institutes of Medical Science (AIIMS) exam will be conducted on May 26 & May 27, 2018, to admit eligible students amongst their nine institutes across India. Every year, lakhs of candidates appear for the entrance exams for securing admissions in various colleges. With just a few more days left, here is what students can do to confidently face the exams.
Know Your Syllabus
Ensure that you know your syllabus well. Note down important chapters as per the exam and your preparation level for those chapters. Understanding the complete syllabus will help you get a hold of the topics you will have to prepare for the examinations.
Plan Your Preparation
Prepare a weekly study plan, and assign some chapters to study every week. This would help you to complete your syllabus in time. Also, along with covering theory, keep practicing mock papers and sample papers of AIIMS MBBS within the time limit, as this will enhance your time management skills and accuracy.
While studying, candidates should also study the basics concepts and foundations of each subject. Studying the basic concepts of each subject helps candidates understand the higher concepts better.
Students writing the exam should make a plan and divide time for each subject. Make a regular timetable to study. Do not study at a stretch; take regular breaks. Time management is very important while preparing for an exam.
Once thorough with the concept, devote time to practicing and solving problems. The more you practice, the more you will be familiar with the pattern of the examination. Practice definitely makes you perfect.
Refer To The Right Books
Books related to topics are available in the market. Check with your friends, teachers and numerous online websites. Choose the right book to study from instead of wasting time on looking at study materials.
Apart from this, there are All India Test Series available online on various e-learning portals. You can opt for the same and boost your preparation. The online test series will give you the benefit of knowing what kind of questions might come and where you stand.
Know Your Strengths & Weakness
Give special attention to the chapter that you are particularly weak in and those that are important from the exam standpoint. Analyse your strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your weak topics will let you focus more on the weaker areas so that you can become good with those topics too. Do not leave those topics to the end, as you might not find enough time to practise. It is important to know where you stand in order to prepare well for your examination.
Clear The Doubts
In case you have doubts related to any subject, you can either refer to different books or ask your friends and teachers. While you discuss problems with them, you will understand the solution and hence, will be able to solve similar problems quickly. Any doubt, when discussed, has less probability of getting forgotten during the exam.
All study, no play is not the key to success. Make sure your spare time for some recreational activities.
Last But Not Least
Attempt questions carefully as there is a negative marking system. Remember that it's chapters with high weight-age that you should prepare and finish first. This will not only complete your preparation to a great extent but will also give you the much-needed confidence to boost your morale.
Try to complete the whole syllabus well in time for the exam, so that you have enough time for revisions. This will also give you a head start when you start preparing for AIIMS after the board exam is over.
