Written By:

There is less than a month to go for the NEET 2018 examination that is on May 6, 2018. The admit cards have been released and this year 1.33 million aspirants have registered for this national-level medical entrance exam. In order to avoid last-minute rush, candidates are advised to download the admit cards as soon as possible from the official website.

Using Too Many Study Materials

Although, the competition is high and you are curious to cover every possible aspect, using too many study materials is going to end up leaving you confused and not wiser. As for the NEET preparations, you must exercise smart work along with hard work. NCERT is the standard textbook that is to be referred for NEET preparations. Adding up more reference books means adding up to more confusion. So stick to NCERT books only.

Not Revising

What is worse than an unprepared mind? A mind that has prepared but forgotten. After all your toil and burning out lamps for this coveted exam, not revising will make your efforts go in vain. Keep the last few days at least for revisions and skim through the things that you have studied. This will help you face the exam more confidently.

Building Exam Tension

The emphasis and toughness level of NEET has definitely increased this year and has the scope of increasing every year. But that must only motivate you more. Be excited that you are going to attend one of the prestigious exams in the country and you now have the chance to ace it. If you are nervous instead, there is a high probability that you will forget what you have prepared and will blackout in the examination hall. Instead, if you keep calm, you will have the advantage of thinking well and answering accordingly.

Using Guesswork To Answer Questions

For every wrong answer you mark, you will be given negative marking in the evaluation process. That does not mean that you must ignore all the questions that you do not know. But try to recollect and use logical reasoning instead of selecting an answer or guessing in random. NEET will not work for those who execute guesswork.

Ignoring Weaker Sections

There are hard portions in every subject for everyone. There are some topics that some of you might just detest even looking at. But what's the point of having a blacklist of topics, when medicine is the field that you want to tread on?

Many at times, your fears are bigger than the real situation. Try reading the difficult portions once. You may not like them yet, but when you attempt them again and again, you will be able to figure a way to crack them in terms of understanding and retaining memory. So, do not take chances by skipping any topics. Cover all the portions if you want to crack NEET.

Underestimating Usage Of Technology

There is always the traditional method of using physical books and markers for highlighting. At the same time, do not underestimate the power of technology to leverage your chances of cracking NEET. There are blogs, videos and markers online that could assist you with easy studying than just with obtaining hard copies of books. Avoid gadgets to fidget with during your study sessions. Instead, use them in a productive way to enhance your learning experience.

Avoiding Mock Tests

You may be scared of the exam. But if you want to alleviate that fear, you must not shy away from taking mock tests that are available online. It is okay if you are not fully ready yet. But attending a few of them will help you get a good idea of the examination and effectively write it.
