TIFR Recruitment For Engineer, Tradesman, Clerk Positions

The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), a leading public research institute under Govt. of India has invited applications from Indian citizens for several positions at its end by 05 January 2019. The recruitment is for 15 positions comprising Scientific Assistant, Junior Engineer, Clerks, Trainee Clerks, Tradesman, Work Assistants and Project Engineer for various branches as prescribed in the notification.

The selected candidates shall be placed either at TIFR in Colaba, Mumbai, or at any of the institute's centres/field stations in Mankhurd, Mumbai and Gauribidanur in Karnataka.

The recruitment to the above posts will be for a period of 3 years, extendable till the superannuation age of 60 based on the extensive review and performance of the candidate. The applicant applying for different posts should not have exceeded the prescribed age as on 1 July 2018 as detailed in the notification.

The selected candidates will be paid a specified salary/stipend as prescribed against the position/post held under different pay scales.

Educational And Other Credentials:

Scientific Assistant - Candidates applying for this post should be a graduate in BioScience with 60% marks and must possess basic computer knowledge and its applications with desirable work/research experience as detailed in the notification.

Junior Engineers (B) - Candidates applying for these posts should have SSC/HSC certificate with a Diploma (full time) in either of the engineering fields - Telecommunications/Computer Technology/Electronics Instrumentation/Civil Engineering with 60% marks. He/She must possess basic computer knowledge and its applications with desirable work experience as detailed in the notification. He/She must have desirable work experience as detailed in the notification.

Clerks (A): Candidates applying for this post should be a graduate in any discipline (commerce preferably) with minimum 50% marks and must have good typing skills/speed with basic computer knowledge and its applications. He/she must have desirable work experience as detailed in the notification.

Tradesman (Mechanic, Civil Draughtsman, and Electrical): Candidates applying for these posts should have qualified SSC or equivalent and secured a National Trade Certificate (NTC) with minimum 60% marks awarded by NCVT in the applied area/discipline and must have the desirable work experience as detailed in the notification.

Work Assistants (Plumber and Electrical): Candidates applying for these posts should have secured a National Trade Certificate (NTC) awarded by NCVT certificate from a recognized institute in the relevant trade and must have the desirable work experience in the relevant trade as detailed in the notification.

Clerk Trainees: Candidates applying for these posts should be a Graduate from a recognized University/Board and must have good typing skills/speed with basic computer knowledge and its applications.

Project Engineer 'C': Candidates applying for this post should have a B.E. in mechanical engineering or B.Tech in the same discipline with minimum 60% marks. He/she should also have 1-2 years of experience in using Finite Element Software Packages for Mechanical Analysis.
